Compliant of carpet

Warren is lovely
But saying that, all I can say about Flooring Extra in Cremorne is “ TO RUN “ Rude people, can t admit that they had some input of doing things wrong aswell, no communication.

Time line: -
Wed 6th sep,
carpet layers came, I had pots of paint on the lounge floor, took 30 to 45 mins to tidy up

They were given only 1 day to do this job - 3 bedroom house with 2 sets of stairs
But they had to go at 3pm to go to the dump to get rid of my carpet and I someone’s else’s too (this was not scheduled in by Chris, or the carpet men (CM) should have let her know?

They were very grateful for their bacon sandwiches and biscuits

They said that they will come tomorrow, but wasn t able too

1.5 weeks later
Saturday 16th - that 1st day of hot weather
Unfortunately my phone was on silent and I hopped into the shower, so I didn t hear them (that was totally my fault, but couldn’t understand why they couldn’ t come back, as they had me booked in for the day?) as I texted them 35mins later

I was booked in for other days, so I stayed in doors, I had moved the kids mattresses in and out of their rooms serval times, as they were sleeping on mattresses on the floor, but at 3pm got a phone call to say that they had ran over time with the job before mine and couldn’ t come

This happen a few times - kids were over it by this tme

Chris offered a Friday, but I work on Fridays, so a wed was booked in, but had a job before mine. I asked chris to offer the Friday to the people before me, (as times before they ran out of time) and then CM would have a whole day with them on Friday and have a whole day on my job on wed - she said no, as she had just got off the phone from them and had booked them in

I also told Chris that I had a lump in my carpet that needs to looked at too

They came on the wed 27th (4 weeks later) and 2hrs after the time chris said that they would come. The man had hurt his hand, but he still came to put my carpet in. They finish at 7pm (taking them 5hrs). And I had taken up all of the carpet from both stairs taken off the smoothing from the edges and the underlay as well
Banged in any nail, cleaned the stairs too, so it was already fir them and to save them time, (so does that mean that if I had cleared the paint pots cleared on the 6th, they would have finished the job, as Chris implied? Obviously Not)
They were too tired to look at the lump in the carpet

Chris rang the next day to ask for payment, I asked her to book me in fir the CM ‘s to look at my lump

She said yiu pay and we ll get someone to come and have a look.

She rang the next day asking for the payment, I asked when She was going to get someone round, her reply was that she can t confirm this but the payment is very overdue and needs to be closed off now.

I stopped answering her phone calls

But she rang again and in the meantime, my car had broken down, and had cost me $1,000 to repair
I let her know that this has happen and would she mind waiting until I get paid
She relplied “ that it wasn t her problem! “ noice hey

I said you still need to get someone round to have a look at my lump, she was still asking for the payment - so frustrating as I couldn’ t pay it, straight away
She spoke to Leon and he called out, we ll come and rip out the carpet and then put back when you can pay - noice again

(And that was quicker, than to look at my lump in my carpet, that I had told them about weeks before?)

I said it does matter to yiu if I pay 1st or get the CM to come round to have a look at my lump? (as I knew that once I had paid, I would never see them again)
Chris booked me in on the Saturday, 2 days later and I said that I would ask my dad to transfere the money over from the uk to pay them

They had a look at the lump and I paid them

The whole experience wasn t pleasant, it was mentally hard work
The Morale of the story is, she should have booked them in for the wed and Thursday, and not just the wed,
good luck

Rude staff, really bad service overall so I didn’t even bother getting a quote!

Installed carpet so that our front door would no longer open and refused to change the thickness of the lining so that our door could be functional. The soloution he suggested was to “shave the door” he also said that the warrantee became void after installation. Super unhelpful and unprofessional. Do not recommend.

This company has just finished two jobs for me. Great advice, service and extremely professional. Their carpet layers were excellent and did a great job.

Avoid Flooring Xtra at all costs.

There is so much choice out there, I urge you to take your business elsewhere.

I had the misfortune of hiring South Sydney Flooring Xtra to lay the new carpet in my apartment. They did such an awful job and refused to take responsibility when I complained.

There are flooring nails sticking through the carpet that pierce your foot as you walk up the stairs.

They did not use any new underlay on the stairs. They cut corners to save money and the end result was so thin that nails are protruding through the carpet that stick into your foot if you walk barefoot on the carpet.

The carpet was not cut to size – along some edges the carpet is too short and there is a 5mm gap to the wall, along other edges the carpet is cut too wide and it is bunched up against the wall.

They left multiple marks on freshly painted walls.

There are hard patches on the carpet where they have used hot glue to stick the carpet to the floor.

When I complained, the director came over and inspected the job. He told me that’s how it was supposed to be installed and that full payment is required.

Flooring Xtra are either terrible at laying carpet, or the director lied to me so that they weren’t accountable for the hatchet job they left at my apartment.

Either way, you should definitely not consider Flooring Xtra to lay your carpet. Keep looking for a more reputable company with a proven track record.
