ABC Seamless Guttering

UPDATE 2: ABC management have reached out to discuss what happened and apologise. They have promised they will internally investigate to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Obviously this is an outlier case, no business would survive if this is how they were to regularly operate. Nevertheless this was my experience, which went down the way it did, and hopefully it won’t be anyone else’s.

REVIEW UPDATE: “We appreciate your understanding”. This business-pleasantry jargon was spouted a few time through emails when dealing with them. At no point did they have my “understanding”. I didn’t understand why the work was not completed correctly in the first place. I didn’t understand why my yard was left a mess. I didn’t understand why damages were unreported and why I had to chase them up multiple times to complete work and repair damage they had caused. They didn’t have my “understanding”, they had me over a barrel. When I asked for a discount I was threatened with legal action. During the course of all this drama I asked for a discount due to all the problems. They said they can discuss a discount with me and will get back to me. Two weeks later (two days before close of business for the year) I was told they’d only provide a $100 discount off $3500 and to pay in full by the end of the week or they’d pursue legal action. Horrible, horrible experience with ABC.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Absolutely appalled at the service received. They left our front and back yard covered in small sharp metal off cuts, nails, screws and even left a large bracket (which held the previous guttering) out in the open. I called 20 minutes after they left to tell them there was metal everywhere and needed to be cleaned up. 48 hours (and 6-7 follow up calls) later I had to clean up the yard myself for safety reasons. I understand that the occasional piece of metal or nail may go astray, but this stuff was everywhere. I went to the spots in the yard they were working and found multiple small sharp off cuts in a group. These weren’t flying off, they were carelessly left to be stepped on. They took no responsibility for this whatsoever.

But that’s not the end of the poor service.

They damaged the roof when installing, and failed to tell us. I had to discover is myself. Again, I called to find out what was happening and supposedly they were coming back to fix it (but forgot to tell us about the damage in the first place?). When they did come back, they didn’t fix everything. I specifically sent photos of all the damage, yet when they arrived they fixed one part, then left without confirming any of their work. I had to discover the still un-repaired damage myself, and chase them up AGAIN for the work to be completed.

ABC Seamless took no care and no responsibility when completing this work. Find someone else to do the work.

ABC Seamless replaced our gutters, downpipes and fascia boards recently. Despite the torrential rains that caused havoc with scheduling across businesses in QLD and NSW, the team kept us up to date on status and - almost as soon as the sun shone for a couple of days - the team came and (very quickly) installed everything for us. We've been very happy with the value, service and product/installation quality. Thanks team!

The salesman and tradies that installed our guttering were professional and easy to communicate

But the office staff are at the opposite end of the scale rude from first contact and as far as communicating with customer its non existent until they are after the money owed

ABC were great from the quote, professional, friendly, explained but didn't bad-mouth other styles/businesses, just bare information needed to make the decision.
Great work by the team who came up to replace the old rusted gutters, barely a swear word was heard ;)

Our guttering installation was just completed by ABC Seamless and we could not be happier with their sales / delivery / installation. The whole engagement from start to finish was professional and mindful of our needs as customers. Jim who did the installation was just the perfect tradesman and paid attention to detail. If anybody ever asks me to refer a roof / guttering supplier there's only one name - ABC Seamless:)

How amazing was it to use this company to replace our old gutter! On time.professional.easy to communicate with. AND looks awesome! New black gutter and black fascia board. Would highly recommend ABC Seamless to all.

Whilst I am happy with the gutters themselves the customer service was terrible.

On the morning the day installation was scheduled I was advised that the installers wouldn’t be coming as they hadn’t returned from leave? ! I had arranged for my dogs to be looked after to make it easier for the installers which I then had to cancel and rebook.

The gutters were made on site that day, he turned up at least! They were then left as a trip hazard across my front lawn.

I wasn’t given a new installation date, I had to chase that up before I was advised they would come the following Monday.

That Monday no one turned up. I had to call to follow up. Did get somewhat of an apology and booked for the next day.

Once installers actually came they did a good job. It started raining and they couldn’t finish the job. Again I had to call to chase up when it would be finished.

As I said, the gutters are good, but I’m sure you can go elsewhere for a much smoother experience.

We had all-house downpipe replacement. Did the job well, they were tidy and they were pleasant people. But to note: we had to chase up day of instillation and make phone calls to be sure. Small thing but, good if the company were the ones to organise these type of arrangements and phone calls. Nevertheless, I will happily refer to others

This is the 3rd house on which I have used ABC seamless to do roof/gutterwork. On the latest project Boris (estimator) came up with an ingenious solution to make my gutter independent of my neighbour. Nigel (gutter installer) did an incredible job to put the solution into practice, and Bruce (leafguard) put on the finishing touches so that I will have no more water leaks onto my verandah after heavy rain.

I telephoned three times over a two week period requesting a quotation to remove old gutters and install new gutters. Each time I was told they would forward my phone number to the estimator who would contact me. I did not receive a phone call. Very disappointing as I have used this company previously but never again.

My advice is never ever use this company. Amongst other things they installed a water tank. We subsequently had a problem with the installation and despite several attempts to have the company fix the problem we were simply ignored. Unprofessional and discourteous.

Mick showed up on time and gave me a fair quote. The boys installed the new gutter and fascia cover, cleaned up the site and did a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend ABC Gutters. Thanks so much

At first, it all seemed rather daunting especially since I had had no experience with this sort of work; and it was difficult to come to grips with the fact that the scaffolding was more expensive than the guttering! But it all went perfectly.

I had my gutters and leaf screen replaced by ABC and I am very happy with the outcome. The gutter installer Richard did great work and completed a big, difficult job in 2 days. The leaf screen installer Bruce finished off with a beautiful fit and a very neat result. I would recommend both the products and the installers. The scaffolding was difficult with some of my roof 8 metres off the ground on a sloping block but the company they used, Axis, was also really good, and the price was much better than I expected. All said I am delighted with the whole result.

I have now updated pictures with the final - and -after corrections -outcome on my house. Tribunal did not see anything wrong with it hence I had to pay.

We found ABC Seamless via the Service Seeking website and were impressed that they could offer all the services we required - roof inspection & restoration, gutter repair, roof repainting and water tank installation.
Unfortunately thanks to Covid-19 and Lockdown the work dragged on for months, however this was no-one’s fault and we appreciated that you kept us informed and returned to work as soon as restrictions allowed.
As for the work - we are DELIGHTED with the result!
Apart from the minor problem with the water tank, which was promptly rectified, the standard of work, the professionalism of your contractors and the amazing job done is testimony to the quality of your company and the service you offer.
