UPDATE: The passage way ceiling has now been repaired and we have confirmed details of when intercoms will be replaced (almost exactly 6 months since they stopped working). It's a shame it took so many emails, a negative review and submitting for mediation to fair trading to finally get an outcome here. But I'll take it as a win nonetheless.

SIDE NOTE: Interesting to see the majority of the strata committee have now given positive reviews since both my neighbour and I posted negative ones. Again - it shouldn't have needed to come to this.

ORIGINAL POST: Ongoing issue in building for over 4 months now. The intercom hasn't worked since mid-January. Whilst costly to remedy, zero commitment regarding a time-frame for the intercom replacement (or when approval for one can be expected) has been provided. Likewise, I had to request signage be put up to inform visitors that the intercom system is out of service - twice.

I understand that building management doesn't control the strata and isn't the decision making body - which is why I included the Strata Manager in every single email. That said, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect regular updates regarding an issue when it's been in excess of 4 months since it was first raised (along with others that have yet to be remedied).

My biggest frustration (resulting in this review) is not the fact that the ceiling and intercom have not been repaired - it is the poor communication, the lack of updates and the inability to provide a realistic time-frame as to when issues will be remedied.

Something as simple as "The strata committee is meeting on X date to discuss the matter and we expect approval by Y date, we will then carry the works out as quickly as practical thereafter" would have made the world of difference. Instead - I had to send multiple emails asking for updates.

I have been dealing with A Clean City and Abdul for the better part of a decade and it is difficult to find words to accurately describe how professional and helpful Abdul and A Clean City are.

Nothing is too small or too big and you will always get a response, even on weekends. The levels of commitment and responsiveness exhibited by Abdul are second to none and unwavering even in the most challenging of situations, and dealing with strata complexes is certainly often challenging.

The two negative reviews seem to be entirely misdirected as they refer to issues which are entirely outside of A Clean City's scope and power. Those matters and decisions are generally dealt with by the owners' corporation, not a building contractor.

Abdul and his company are an absolute pleasure to deal with. We are so happy to have them at our building.

I have been dealing with A Clean City for several years, since 2013. I can not speak highly enough of Abdul and A Clean City. Not only does Abdul take care of all of the cleaning in the complex, he also acts as the building manager fixing all the problems that a strata building of 20+ years faces. This has been no easy feat or task, often taking considerable time and resources. I know I can contact Abdul 24/7 and he will respond swiftly. A Clean City's can do attitude is always welcomed. Thanks A Clean City and Abdul, I look forward to working with you for years to come.

I'm very happy with A Clean City overall. They've serviced our building for years, which has had its fair share of issues. Abdul is excellent at prioritising issues and providing perspective/advice on what can vs should be done. He's very responsive (whether it's a big issue or small), provides good transparency regarding operations and expenditure, and has a wealth of experience that has made managing our building significantly easier. I'm extremely happy we have him onboard and highly recommend him.

Nothing but negative experiences with this company and their operations manager, Abdul. Very unhelpful and unreliable. I’ve been trying to resolve a leak on common property for 18 months to no avail. When I do receive a response to my correspondence, I get excuse after excuse. 5 months ago, I allowed them to take apart my kitchen wall so they could fix a leak that was affecting a unit below mine. They sent a handyman to fix the wall and he did a shoddy job. According to Abdul it wasn’t a shoddy job? His response was very childish and unhelpful. Repairs have still to be completed. Have lodged a NCAT application against the Owners Corporation now so will be advocating for the removal of this Building Manager until it’s done. There’s also a hazard outside one of the apartment doors which has been there for months. No concern for occupier or public safety. Update: Photos of hazard and shoddy repairs

Our building of 77 apartments uses A Clean City as cleaners, and for several years now, we have engaged Abdul as our building manager. I highly recommend Abdul and his company. They have an excellent knowledge of cleaning and building management, of strata laws and issues, are professional, courteous, are quick to respond to issues, and are cost effective. I was on the EC prior to their involvement, and it was a great relief for all EC/SC members when we engaged Abdul to manage the building (rather than continuing to try and manage it ourselves and with just a strata manager). We have had a myriad of issues that Abdul has successfully navigated for us over the years.
