6HEAD reviews
75 I had an amazing meal here. The steaks were the best ever and I have been to steak houses around the world. The service was perfect. The setting overlooking the Sydney Harbor and Opera house was incredible.
If you have time for only one great meal in Sydney, AU definitely make it at 6Head.
One of the best steaks I've ever had! The 300g grass fed fillet was out of this world. Excellent service, great wine and lovely ambience.
Not normally one to complain but I had such high hopes for 6Head due to the raving reviews, their specialty and location. From the get go, service was really slow and disorganised. Took 20 mins from being seated to get our first round of drinks. Entree was yellowfin tuna and the caviar kebabs. Tuna was okay, kebabs were fantastic. Ordered one steak each with high hopes as it is a steak restaurant, both were ordered medium rare and came out medium to well. Left half of my $92 steak on the table because it was unenjoyable. The mash was covered in oil and again the drinks were so slow that our wine pairings were out of sync. We were seated outside which was super cold and not shielded from the wind, the staff attempted to swap out the gas bottle next to me, allowed the gas to hiss and leak and I got out of my seat out of fear of being set on fire. They never attempted to light it in the end. We spent $500 and it was a special anniversary dinner, we left thinking it was a waste of potential, time and money and feeling lethargic due to the obsessive amounts of oil poured on everything. So sad because I wanted to love it.
One of the best places in Sydney for premium steaks.
The staff are very knowledgeable and transparent. The wine selection is also brilliant.
Good atmosphere and overall experience was okay. The starters and entrees we had were great, with the kingfish ceviche being the highlight. We were most excited for the t-bone thought which we had ordered medium. To our dismay, the steak came out clearly well done. We had notified the wait staff who agreed it was clearly overcooked and offered to either recook it which will be extra wait time or to notify the manager to discuss other options. As the wait for the steak was long enough, we had taken up his offer to have a chat with the manager.
Not much comprise was offered here. The only two options she gave was to she recook it allowing extra wait time, or to “remove the item from the bill”. There may have been a miscommunication as we weren’t aware that “removing the item from the bill” would mean the steak would be sent back to the kitchen and thrown it in the bin. Due to the miscommunication and as we’d yet to have mains, we had to order another steak. They gave us a salad on the house.
Service was not too bad, our drinks got mixed up with another table which was an honest mistake.
Overall experience 3/5
For a fancy, expensive restaurants this one has room for improvement.
Food: average
Service: poor (you need to know your menu)
Toilets: CLEAN THEM POR FAVOR (please!)
Food was amazing however when informing and showing the manager that there was a mosquito in my wine, he simply said “oh that’s fine, that’s normal I’ll scoop it out” while proceeding to grab a spoon a scoop out the mosquito in front of me. Quite disgusting. He refused at first to replace it, made ME feel uncomfortable and tried to convince me to drink the wine that had the mosquito floating around in it
Despite an initial hiccup with a trainee waiter, our evening was stellar. A well appointed wine list matched our sharing menu choices perfectly. The aged tomahawks were grilled to perfection. Easy on the entrées and whatever comes before the meat because you will be very full. Service was swift and attentive without being overbearing. The setting was magnificent and we were treated to fireworks to boot. A highlight of my trip to Sydney.
Horrible customer service!
I had made a reservation for 9: 45 and my dinner was served only at 11: 30. On top on that, they served me a “medium rare” steak instead of “medium well”. Upon brining this up with the waitress, she served me with a new steak at 12: 00am! They didn’t compensate me for the long wait or for serving the wrong steak. When I talked to the manager, his exact words were “ we can’t check how well the steak is cooked since we can’t cut it, so these kinda faults are inevitable and all I can do is apologise but we did serve you a new steak (For which they charged me full price) and that’s the our compensation”
Clearly, they don’t know how to cook their steaks and have no experience in doing so. Not worth at all, don’t waste your money!
One of the best steak places in Sydney, one of the few places you can get Wagyu from HIDA prefecture Japan.
Must order their HIDA wagyu snack as it is their signature. Ask for the Outdoor spot near the waters, great view.
I was looking for somewhere special to have a lovely, good quality, friendly service, comfortable, and great view/people watching. This place is IT! Excellent. I was a tourist travelling solo and the staff was sooo fabulous! Filet and mash was excellent! Highly recommend.
The food and service was great. We ordered the wagyu bresaola, artisan bread with smoked wagyu butter, kingfish ceviche, rump tartare, dry aged tomahawk, 200g fillet plus veggies and chips for sides. It’s not the cheapest steakhouse as expected but it was worth it.
Used to be a Rockpool fan and would recommend it for steak…. Now this tops it. Great eye fillet with a side of chips. Excellent three pepper sauce. Entree of burrata was in point and the passionfruit dessert with a touch of yuzu was excellent.
And you can fault the views.
In regards to service, need to say this.they are great. Attentive, quick and responsive to requests
Thank you team for a great experience
Location is very good. We’ll set out. We had a group of 16 so had the set menu unfortunately. Would have loved to try from the full menu. I will be back. Had dedicated staff attend to our table. Drinks service was quick.
Tomahawk was delicious. We ordered The Dawes set menu which was extremely filling! Will probably order the tomahawk on its own next time and probably get it cooked rare (we got medium rare but still found it a bit chewy).
Staff were super friendly and went out of their way to present a birthday dessert with candles.
You can also earn and use Qantas frequent flyer points here.
Stumbled across this place when I was looking for a last minute place to have a nice meal.called to see if I could get in and the lady on the phone was very helpful and got us a table. Best meal every and the service was second to none.will recommend this place to anyone.
The Tomahawk was well worth the money. We 3 guys had it and it was plenty.but recommend to get some sides.
Delicious cocktails!
The miche with Wagyu butter was creamy with smoke notes, highly recommended.
Tomahawk steak was cooked to perfection and carved at our table. A fantastic experience!
Had a late lunch here with a few colleagues on a Friday afternoon the week before Christmas.
The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly making us feel welcome while they also catered for several other large groups and a wedding at the same time.
The food and drinks were spectacular. We had oysters, calamari, prawns, beef tartare as well as a couple of the popular tomahawk steaks. All were delicious and perfectly cooked.
The timing between the entrees and steaks with sides was spot-on including the customary viewing of the cut of meat before preparation.
Once we were finished we enjoyed several rounds of drinks which crept into the next service. The wait staff very politely moved us to another free table which was very accommodating of them.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal with a stunning view hosted by a fantastic team!
Had the tomahawk here and it didn't disappoint!
Juicy tender and was big enough for 2 big boys.
Definitely recommend!
Also the views were
Fantastic location, great food and great service. Definitely recommend booking the outdoor section
