We recently hired Sam to sand and polish the floorboards in our living room, kitchen and staircase, and to also clean and oil our outdoor deck. All of these areas had seen very heavy wear and even some water damage here and there, but Sam worked absolute magic! In 2017 we hired one of the large floor sanding companies in Sydney to limewash the rooms on the ground floor of our home. They used a roller with limewash out of a tin from one of the well-known paint companies, and the result was pretty damn average. This year we hired Sam from 5Star Flooring to limewash our living/dining area and the two bedrooms on the level above - which has tricky access via a spiral staircase. Firstly, Sam applied limewash the authentic way. The floors now look better than they ever did - including when they were newly-installed. Secondly, there was an issue in one room where the limewash product reacted to the timber (or vice-versa). Sam set about resolving the problem, including bringing in the product rep for a consultation. He wouldn't leave until he fixed the problem and fix it he did - at no additional cost. Backing your work, in my view, is the mark of a true professional and we'll be happy to have him back when we redo the floors on the ground floor.
