Its so disappointing what has happened to this place. We went there 2 years ago and it blew us away. Then a year ago went back and the place was falling apart. The poor guy hired to manage didn’t stand a chance. Owners obviously swanning around not spending a penny on maintenance. Planned to go back again hoping for improvement, but its like they are intentionally running it into the ground. Don’t bother going without knowing they have renovated or charge a lot less! As an example pics attached. Bathroom tiles cracked and squelching with water and mould underneath. Their solution cut up some rubber and put on top! Worst thing is these tiles were cracked the year before. So they are clearly not spending a penny! This is just one of many issues… they also let very loud guests make noise late into the night with non residents driving off revving massive ute engines at 2am. They had a good thing and ruined it.

We checked in 5 families. Photos are very deceiving. Yes the beach was awesome but that's were it ended. For the amount we paid we didn't believe our eyes.the rooms were run down. The bathroom Was filled with mould. Shower was so tiny and the shower head was terrible. The kitchen was run down the furniture was old. The couches are filled with sand couldn't even put my 8m old on it. No vaccum to clean the floor after a day at the beach. We didn't get checked in until 4.15pm as the cleaners where still doing their job. And what a job they did. The floor was still dirty couches not cleaned. And it had a really bad smell.ontop of all that not one cupboard to store your clothes in. We were living from the suitcase what an absolute joke. Our clothes were all wrinkled. The room description say air conditioned room yet the only air con was in the loving room. For the amount we paid i was in shock at what we got never again. Don't waste your money. Yes easy beach access but you can rent the cabins next door for half the price.

Recently stayed here for two days for a wedding.

15 kms of winding dirt track through the scrub to get to this place didn't have us in the best of spirits on arrival, as you can imagine.

Some of our party stayed in tents, "glamping" is the term used. Folks, they're canvas tents with no power, mozzies and dodgy zippers. One couple woke to find a massive centerpeed above them on the INSIDE of the tent.

We stayed in one of the cabins. It wasn't bad, I'll give them that much. It comprised of two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and the other had two singles. It also had an open lounge/kitchen with the bathroom off that.

If you're coming here for a function, you'll need to bring your own food, unless they're catering for the event. This place is in the middle of nowhere, with no shops of any description, AND, there's no phone reception. They advertise wifi, but no one in our party of 100 could get it to work.

If you're looking for an isolated beachy getaway with just you and nature and no contact with the outside world, then you'll love this place.

Beautiful place to spend a weekend. The views are unreal and the staff is incredibly friendly.
Got lucky and saw a wedding ceremony, looked like a movie scene.
Highly recommended

A wonderful spot for glamping just far enough away for peace and quiet. Right next to the beautiful Bherwherre Beach with lovely bathrooms, kitchen area and fire pit. Don't be surprised when you see kangaroos and wallabies roaming around the area.

Staff are super lovely and took so much care and effort into looking after us and checking in whilst we stayed there. The rooms were very nice but will definitely be checking out the glamping tents on our next stay as they looked super cool. Loved being right on the beach and great spot for the kids to swim and run around at the inlet going into a slow moving creek (also a great fishing spot for us), and interacting with the many kangaroos that came to see us right at our doorstep on the site. Great spot for the family as it feels like you're on your own little island whilst still being so close to town and everything Jervis Bay has to enjoy.

We married at The Cove midweek, Thursday 4th May and it was a dream at The Cove. We asked our guests to pay a portion of accommodation costs, covering close to half & planned the most epic 3 day wedding party.

Every guest has commented on just how amazing the venue is, we were blessed with beautiful weather and every wedding dream completely came to life. I used suppliers that come recommended to the area & my wedding was truly one to remember.

I am so glad that of the few venues we looked at, we chose The Cove as everything was just perfect. Thank you to the lovely staff members that took care of us and really helped to make our day. From Laura in planning and Lucy closer to the date - big thank you! Best wedding location ever! Kitty & Eddy xx

This was the most amazing wedding venue! The staff are so helpful and friendly - I cannot thank them enough for helping me make the day so special.
Not to mention the rooms were actually very nice and the glamping tents were very comfortable.
Loved the wildlife and all the activities you can do on site!

We had our wedding at The Cove in Feb 2023. We first saw the venue about 18 months prior to our wedding, it was the ONLY venue we had inspected and it was more than perfect for us.

Our 3 days at The Cove were the most perfect 3 days of our lives to date. The staff at the cove were AMAZING, particularly Chelsea, our guests absolutely raved about the venue and the weather was perfect, thank you Mother Nature!

Almost every one of our 115 guests have mentioned how they thought it was the best wedding they had been too (some were married themselves!)

The cove creates the more amazing atmosphere and is the perfect destination for a 3 day festival of love with your soulmate.
The team are there for out on the 3 days to assist wherever they can. Also the styling shed is amazing!

HIGHLY recommend putting any of your doubts to the side and booking The Cove for your wedding,

William

Lovely Views and Lovely rooms to hire the perfect location to get married … or so I thought after weeks and weeks of trying to book the venue … the constant non answering of their phone… the constant emails never getting a reply … staff saying they can’t even access emails after being told that is the best way to contact “Go Figure”… the staff have made one of the easiest things when planning a wedding a complete nightmare… I would advise against making this your wedding venue until they actually have competent staff

PLEASE READ IF YOU PLAN TO STAY IN THE "GLAMPING AREA"

We had a stay in the glamping accommodation over Christmas 2022. While the location was wonderful, there were a number of issues that we experienced that did not live up to our expectations nor the value of the stay.

The main issue was with drainage from the shower and bathroom block. Every day there would be a large amount of waste water pooling around the campfire and dining area. Despite informing the staff, the issue only got worse daily. Children and adults were stepping in it by mistake, especially at night when it was harder to see. It smelled awful and I can't imagine how unsanitary it was to have it pooling in a communal area with kids running around. (See attached photo)

The showers themselves smelled pretty bad too. I imagine this was because there was no proper drainage system below the floor in the shower resulting in stagnant water and mud. We've seen better drainage in simple campsite shower blocks – we definitely expected more from "boutique accommodation".

The main bins were overflowing daily and we had to deal with that ourselves. This happened EVERY DAY, not just on Christmas day where we know the staff were off. The bins in the toilets were not emptied ONCE during our whole stay. They were overflowing and disgusting. Again, extremely unsanitary.

The double bed mattresses in the glamping tents were really uncomfortable – our camping mattress we use for standard camping is far better. Far from a boutique experience. In fact the single bed mattress our son used, although very soft, was more comfortable than the main bed which was very hard, lumpy and uneven.

The kitchen had a few issues: We had no cutlery on the first night of our stay, having to share one fork and few knives between 6 people; The BBQ gas was empty; Half of the power points did not work; The kitchen sinks blocked. The temperature in the kitchen during the day was unbearable with heat coming from the fridge paired with the sun. When there are aircon units in the cabins, it made us question where there would not be one fitted to the Kitchen? The size of the kitchen was also very small for the amount of people trying to use it – especially when the site was full. Everything in this area felt very basic and nothing like the lovely BBQ area close to the function suite that was on all the website photos. We expected the same level of quality and finish for the glamping area.

The fairy lights were very pretty and made for lovely instagram photos, but in reality they were so bright inside the tents and stayed on extremely late into the night making it really hard to sleep. A timer on these, or ability to switch them off would make sense.

We felt like signs or information informing people about the local wildlife would be useful. There were guests who obviously had no idea about the effects of feeding wild animals. We loved seeing them, but they were verging on being pests during meal times as a result of people regularly feeding them. We are pretty sure that it cannot be good for their health either, when they are being hand-fed bread rolls and processed foods etc.

As I mentioned before, we absolutely loved the location and overall we still managed to have a good time as we were there with a group of friends. But with so many small issues it made it very difficult for us to see the value in what was a very expensive stay for us.

All of this information was sent to the manager for feedback and we asked if they could offer any type of compensation give n the number of issues we experienced. Unfortunately we only received a very basic email with a disappointing 'copied and pasted' response.

In summary: Incredible location – but avoid the "glamping" if you do stay.

A holiday for 4 days at the lodge, large spacious home for extended family and freinds.
I enjoyed the blue turquoise lagoon and blue waters on the beach relaxing in the sun fishing with family.
What really impressed me was the staff attending to our needs and great service.
The manager chelsy I praise the way you where with the great service you provided and attended to every need.
You made our trip easier and comfortable as much as you could. Big families can be demanding and honestly you done a great Job. My whole family thanks you so much.

I have been coming here for 15 years and ever since the new owners took over this place went down hill!

The spot is amazing and that’s all I can say,

Dear owner/ manager /staff!
You charge and arm and a leg and yet
The cabins are filthy, greasy cutlery, mould in showers, RUST in water kettles, AND THE BEDS! Are so so so uncomfortable!
My children’s single bed rolled around at night, and the beds are old, outdated, and are literally falling apart! UPDATE your beds!

The bathrooms were all mouldy, and the spa keys Yuk,
The fly screens were all ripped so we spend 2am wake ups fighting mosquitoes!

Seriously if I ever return I will hope these cabins are cleaned up and updated! Seriously it is unjust to charge so much and be given unhygienic cabins,
The owner should have used the covid Slow down to update and clean these cabins up,

Throw the beds in the bin and get some new ones, and fix the mould in the showers! Plus fix all your flyscreens as a matter of urgency
Your cabins are not appropriate for holiday makers!

We visited the place mid December with a group of 3 families and booked a glamping tent! Great experience all together. Tents have ample space for a family of 4 with a king size bed and 2 single beds. Shared kitchen can be used 24x7. Toilets and bathroom were well serviced and clean. Place gives ample opportunities to just chill. Kids can have a great time playing big chess, swings, outdoor sports and indoor board games.
Staff was onsite all the time and helped us with our requirements promptly.

The "neighbours" to The Cove were 40 quite intrusive noisy/agressive arabs who appears to be there on a regular basis and walk around and use the facilities of the The Cove premisses during the night. During the day lots of noise from these people.
The premisses and location are great with friendly staff.

We were here for a wedding. Everything was great. We stayed in a chalet but others stayed in the glamping tents, or in the Fun House. Difficult drive on dirt road because recent torrential rain damaged the surface. Hopefully repaired soon.
