Those who say that if it is given to Indonesia, nature will be damaged, how come their thinking is so old-fashioned? Try looking at Raja Ampat, Karimun Jawa, Labuan Bajo, etc.still well maintained to this day, don't generalize anything!

Xmas island national park makes up for 63 percent of landmass of the island. All paths are perfectly marked and exploration is reall easy. Take good shoes though, water and always beware of the ocean. This is a wonderful part of mother Earth.

People should not go there to avoid disturbing the crabs and harming the nature. Won't you stop until there's only one place left unharmed? Natural life is disrupted by people. Leave them alone.enough.

Christmas Island National Park is a national park occupying most of Christmas Island, an Australian territory in the Indian Ocean southwest of Indonesia. [1] The park is home to many species of animal and plant life, including the eponymous red crab, whose annual migration sees around 100 million crabs move to the sea to spawn. Christmas Island is the only nesting place for the endangered Abbott's booby and critically endangered Christmas Island frigatebird, and the wide range of other endemic species makes the island of significant interest to the scientific community. The park initially covered the south-west corner of the island, and was extended in 1986 and 1989 to include most of the rainforest on the island. [3] Today the park covers approximately 85 km2  (33 sq mi), or 63% of the island. [1]

It's a great Island with nice landscape and beaches. We were lucky enough to see the redcrab migration, awesome. It's a calm and so dar less touristy Island. We stayed at "Ocean View Appartements" and enjoyed it so much. Best value for the price, very good located to have everything in walking distance and the owners are super lovely. If you want to have the real Community Christmas Island experience, Ocean View Appartements is the place.

Quiet, untouched beauty. Gorgeous beaches and forests full of rare crabs and birds. Phenomenal cave systems. Most of the time we were exploring without sight of any other human being. Be careful though. These are not your usual tourist trails. Many are difficult to traverse and it is easy to get lost. Travel with others and let people know where you are going. One of my favorite all time places!

Nach 2 Nächten Regen begann die Migration der roten Krabben. Einmalig einzigartiges Naturerlebnis, welches die Menschen hier bestimmt. Und doch ist man alleine. Massentourismus unbekannt.

Huge National Park when you compare it to the size of the island, plenty of places to explore and see.

Trees are everywhere except the ugly scars from phosphate mining. All the mine leases should go into National Park as well. Would be perfect if they had saved the Pippistrel Bat. Extinction occurred here about 2007. Now there is a captive breeding program for critically endangered endemic lizards. Well done. Just in the nick of time. None now exist in the wild.
