Best thai food in Canberra IMO, can tell its authentic and the portions are huge for the price. BBQ neck is fire and the sear on the pad see ew is legit. Been going here since Danny first got the place and have since moved away, just went back for a visit. Thip's is still more authentic than 99% of the places in sydney and still has WAYYYY better pricing/portions. Places like Thip's are rare.

Living in Thailand for nearly three years, I've come to expect a lot from Thai restaurants in Australia, especially those run by people of Thai heritage. Thankfully, Thips Thai doesn't let me down. But what truly sets them apart is their amazing service.

Over the last four weeks, I frequented Canberra for work, and kept finding myself drawn to Thips Thai. It reminded me of the vibrant food courts in Bangkok, bustling with energy. I ended up going back twice, and soon enough, things got exciting. From the third day on, ordering became unnecessary. As soon as I walked in, the staff would greet me with, "Ravin, your usual? " They even got to know my preferences so well that on occassion my food would be ready before I even reached the counter to pay!

One day, I mentioned having a sensitive stomach and needing my meal less spicy. From then on, every single staff member, without fail, would ask if I was feeling better and if I wanted my spice level adjusted. This level of care and attention made me feel incredibly valued as a customer.

Needless to say, the food was fantastic too. Every workday in Belconnen, Thips Thai was my lunch choice.

Staff did not take responsibility for anything, it was up to the customers to chase down rice, water, drinks, order, information etc. The only reason this place exists is because Canberra has about 3 Thai restaurants, the locals don't know any better. Do better Canberra.

The food was really flavourful. I haven't had this good Thai food for ages. The portion sizes were good as well. I ordered the Laksa which was really good, lots of fresh herbs and intense flavours. The beef in the Laksa was really tender and well cooked. My only complaint is that it didn't have enough broth and way too much noodles. The broth/soup gets absorbed by the noodles and it becomes one. Just ask for half the amount of noodles if you order the Laksa. The spring rolls were really good too. I wish they did half size dishes so you can order more variety of food.

I have been living Canberra for almost 10 years. I wish I knew this place earlier. It’s a bit hard to find the place. It’s on the second level, the food is in decent size and taste amazing. It’s already second time we tried. We love to try more dishes next time. We’ve been to Kinn Thai and other Thai restaurants but I have to say this one make me feel like back to Thailand. Some dishes may a bit spicy for Aussie but I am loving it.

Nice quality food. Pad Thai was slightly different style and it was intentionally over grilled so tasted great but slightly chewy. Som Tam and Crispy chicken were great nothing much to pick on. Tom Yam noodle soup was not the one you can imagine or you know.

This is just a local Thai restaurant so don't expect any fancy atmosphere.

If you want to try delicious Thai food，just go there.

The food is served very quickly. A good choice for the fast lunch.

Here used to be our favorite Thai restaurant. My favorite fried rice was Tom Yum fried rice. But when I came today, the flavor changed. We were really disappointed. It feels like the cook changed. I really miss the previous flavor. It used to be authentic and special. We couldn't find the same dish elsewhere. But now, it becomes normal. I understand some people doesn't like the lemongrass in the fried rice. But this is also the reason why it is special. We can't satisfy everyone customer. But we should not disappoint the customer who used to love the extraordinary. Thank you.

One of the best Thai restaurants in town, tucked away next to Ramen-O. The food tastes great, the Thai Chicken was crispy and light. Highly recommend, keen to come back and try the curries

The food was so freaking good which is outstanding to the rest of Canberra. Highly recommend Pad Thai, Beef Thai Chilli basil, and Tom yum soup.

A small restaurant (bit hard to find at first) with good Thai foods. The dishes are very flavourful. They usually do lunch deals (hot bar foods), however hot bar is currently unavailable due to Covid. Hopefully it will be back soon. So only regular menu is available right now.

We dropped in on our way home from Canberra to the South Coast. Got lucky! Great place. Tucked away but worth looking for. Chilli jam beef was truly excellent. If I'm in town again, I'm coming straight back here and ordering the same thing. Staff were friendly, food was quick and delicious.

Best Thai food I have had in Canberra and the staff were so friendly. I am so happy with this service and definitely recommend.

Impeccable. Great service and the food was amazing! Definitely a hidden gem. My partner and I had the seafood pad Thai, crispy noodles and curry puffs. I was really impressed by the food.

EDIT: Upgraded it to 5 starts for the consistently yummy and amazing food. Never been let down with the quality of food and service!

In short it's AMAZING. Cute little Thai restaurant tucked away on level 1 close by to Westfield. Definitely the best Thai food I've had here in Canberra. Great customer service and the food is delicious. I had the Pad Se Ew which was jam packed with flavour. My partner had the Tom Yum Soup Noodles which despite its clear broth was filled with intricate flavours. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu. 4 stars for the pricing. 5 for the food. Will upgrade my review to full 5 stars if the quality remains the same over a period of time. Definitely recommend this place!
