The Civic Pub reviews
61Shout out to the great service and food in the middle of Summernats. We booked a 7: 30 pm spot on Thursday and the pub was packed. We were seated straight away and after we ordered our food (table of 4 with seperate orders) it came out all together shortly thereafter hot and delicious. Very happy campers
Well I have never been too a bar. Too be refused service too order Jamieson Neat or on rocks. Only items that can be done is top shelf. In hospitality industry you find out all the wrongs and rights of who live by tradition. Civic Pub. The Name is Traditional. The Pub is too. So is the Service. But Too take A gentleman or Ladys Traditional Drink Choice Away. You should be Called Un Traditional Pub Of Civic.
Great spot. Had 2 visits within 3 days. Nice cold beer for hubby and a red wine for me, plus some good food
Absolutely excellent. Had the Coq Au Vin and the grilled salmon 10/10. Could not fault a thing. Well priced food, well priced wine list. Brilliant service and location.
This pub is great. A warm cozy atmosphere, great service and delicious food. Cant ask for more!
Definitely worth a try.
A good pub with decent food. It has that 'local' vibe about it and has a large pool room out the back with several tables. Being close to the city centre, it is a close walk to other pubs in the area as well.
Good food and selection of tap beer in a nice ambience if you want a traditional pub atmosphere. The outdoor seating is nice in the warmer months and inside is toasty for the Canberra winter.
Nice place up until we ordered at the bar, I watched as they cheated us out of our drink pouring from the bottle into a glass with ice. Staff member took the rest, staff laughed it off even though I paid full price. When I questioned it they said too bad he already took it. They tried to pour the second bottle into a glass as well.
Makes me wonder what shirt cuts they are taking with the food in the kitchen if this is front of house practice in full view. Shame, this place came highly recommended.
Fantastic pub with great food. Service was quick even though the venue was full and the staff were friendly. Nicely furnished and comfortable seating. If eating, make sure to book so you get a table.
Good food and decent prices. Quite crowded and back pool room closed which was a bit disappointing. Otherwise good value.
Very good food, served quickly and hot. Didn't realise the area was so popular so didn't book but able to get seat outside. Only suggestion.outdoor heaters would be appreciated
Best calamari entree I've had! Fish main was delicious. Staff were friendly and efficient. Venue was crowded (Thursday evening) and therefore very noisy which made conversation difficult.
The food was nice but it should be mentioned when booking that you need to be gone within 90 minutes due to the table being booked again. Still unaware of this fact we were then allowed to order dessert 5 minutes before the dead line. The waiter then tries to eject us before the dessert arrived which took forever because they were so busy and under staffed. They did manage to find the 7.30pm booking another table though.strange!? We booked again for the night after. This time they remember to mention that we had to be gone within 90 minutes, so we promptly order three meals for three people.but only two arrive! They stuffed up our order. Then the 'grumpy over worked' waiter tells me to 'supervise my child' who is clearly visible to me and is happily playing outside on the footpath, disturbing no one, near the entrance where I can access quickly, on council property. I told him to mind his own business. Outside is not the pub's jurisdiction.
Went to civic pub to watch the UFC fight on the weekend. It has good value for money food, and a great atmosphere to watch the fight and/or other sporting events.
First time at the pub and enjoyed my meal of salt and pepper calamari. Atmosphere was good. Good place to relax, have a few drinks and a meal with friends, family or workmates.
Pretty good eatery in my opinion and standards. The food was as good as I expected it to be. However I found the atmosphere to be a bit too rowdy, anarchic, lawless and disordered to be frank. But I guess that's just sort of the thing you sign up for when you go to a place like this and therefore, most of the fault there lies on my part. In summary, they hit the spot for me. 9/10 jubs from me.
I had just had my car stolen and I am from out town and they refused to recharge my phone, after asking, hinted on buying a drink, dutifully did buy expensive beer, told of my predicament before, then point blank refused to help me out, I was flabbergasted, drank the $10 beer & left Never to Return, empathy level Zero
Very nice chill vibe with lovely charming decor like an elegant country pub, excellent outdoor seating options, and the staff are super lovely. You'll enjoy yourself.
Great city pub, good food st reasonable prices, stunning barmaids and courteous door staff. Parking can be an issue, but you can get lucky.
This is my go to spot for a quick get away. I really enjoy the atmosphere as well as the staff. The customers aren't half bad either.
