Excellent, affordable suburban local Vietnamese food with corkage-free BYO alcohol (beer and wine). The dishes are scrumptious and the service efficient and friendly. Takeaways are popular. Parking is plentiful outside in the Pearce shops and the place is roomy enough to accomodate large groups.

Great food! Best Vietnamese spring rolls this side of Saigon. Just need a better website and an easy way to order t/a or delivery.

We just had our son's 21st birthday party at the Saigon Restaurant and it was excellent! The staff were hospitable and generous. The chef served delicious food. It was a great night! The Saigon Restaurant is more than five stars!

In that famous Saigon Crescent movie, or whatever its name, they have a brief restaurant encounter when they're both on their own for an extended time. He finds her a very interesting woman, but must rush due to a call to fix something technological atop a mountain. He cannot erase her from his mind, as in the freezing cold and thunder he must concentrate on fixing yet another Government mishap with giant telegraph wires. Just as he leaves, she says she finds him interesting and that he must not get cold. At the summit and high on the telegraph, he intercepts Government communications lost in last century's broadband wars. He discovers his close encounter is married to a brave young dashing military doctor far away in yet another land the Government has dangerously annoyed. He discovers he could have, at least, offered to buy her meal and stay close to the warmth of her breath and learn from her intelligence. This thought excites him so much he gets tingles he never ever got from even the sexiest toothpaste and as he adjusts the discomfort in his pants, he falls from the telegraph and down the mountain. The Government are pleased to get rid of the nuisance. She never knows how exciting their encounter might have got, but, recovering in hospital with three broken legs, he goes back to the Saigon Crescent restaurant to find her, every night, for six months. Her army doctor chief walks in one night and shoots him, even though he never met her again. If it dosent rain, it pours. Oh! And the food and service at the Saigon Restaurant was impeccably presented, incredibly priced, varied tasty Vietnamese - Chinese and piping hot, like the dashing military's wife. Chris Simon.

We've been going (almost weekly) here for years! Always great food, fresh, delicious, good price & lovely staff. And another great 'Neighbourhood Watch Dinner' again tonight! Thank you for being 'our local'! Wendy
