Rodney’s Garden Café reviews
54We find a piece of glass in their house-made croquette, almost swallowed it. It does scratched the tongue. Disappointed about the way they deal with this serious issue.
Was just looking for a cafe with a kids play area for lunch before we hit the road home and this came up. I was taken back by what a beautiful place this is. Much more than a cafe the shop is beautiful, gardens are incredible and the food and cafe were also 10/10.
Love the kids area and that there are also other separate dining spots to enjoy child free meals too. Def worth a visit
Been going to Rodney's for years. A huge selection of plants and indoor stuff to keep you interested. Fast service at their restaurant as well
Did not get food on this occassion but will definitely be going back. Amazing selection of plants.
Picked up the 2 standard roses I had long promised my partner (after a long wander amongst many other things).
Service was polite and efficient. Would love to go back and spend more time wandering around and visiting the Cafe.
This cute garden centre and cafe is an underrated spot in Canberra! It’s a stunning spot to have a coffee and scone and bask in the sun. Would recommend!
The chocolate bomb did not melt as the milk was lukewarm, which is very disappointing. The bacon and sausage in the garden breakfast seemed like quite poor quality for the price of the meal.
The only good food was the bowl of chips.
Amazing place, relaxing, inviting, very refreshing, so interesting. Great staff.
Good coffee Very nice scones.
Nice little place to get a coffee, just super slow and expect to wait 10-15 mins in line to order during busy periods
The BEST beef brisket club sandwhich. So much so that I took my son back so he could try. Relatively quick service, nice courtyard. Quite busy so parking can be difficult.
Last Tuesday we celebrated my mother's 97th birthday with a surprise lunch at Rodney's. From 12 people plus highchair, our numbers grew with most of the great-grandchildren attending.
The meals were absolutely delicious - compliments to the chef - and they were served very quickly along with liquid refreshments.
The staff supplied a candle & lighter for the cupcakes we provided - all the staff went out of their way to make this occasion very special.
With the purple '97' balloons blowing in the wind, the shower of rain did not deter anyone.
Mum who still loves her pot-plants was very impressed with the nursery - we will visit again for some shopping & lunch.
Many thanks again especially Ann-Maria for the late booking - everyone was delighted with the day - and there was no pressure to go early!
Always lovely food, good coffee, great place to find beautiful gifts. Such a lovely place for browsing and finding that perfect unusal plant.
Lovely food and perfect spot to have breakfast/brunch/lunch. I only wish they would take your orders on the table, a group of 12 people had to queue and order one by one so the food arrived at different times.
Pretty cool place. Plenty of outdoor seating, and a great play area for the kids.
Cafe menu consists of a lot of all-day breakfast types options. Diets are catered for. I had the Brisket sandwich, it was great. Nicely flavoured and juicy. Would happily have again.
The gift shop has a great range of local food stuffs and such. Which I'd say was a highlight.
First time at Rodney’s for a work Christmas lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating available. You can also browse around the nursery and deli after lunch. I had the gardener’s breakfast but swapped out the bacon with smoked salmon. Generous portion - lots of mushrooms. It filled my belly until dinner time. I had a T/A coffee afterwards, though I thought it was a bit pricey imo.
I was lucky to find parking on-site, but a lot of my colleagues had to find parking outside, either on the grass or side of the road. Make sure you read the road signs, some areas have 2 hour parking, others will have “No-parking” signs.
Good food and service. Lots of nice little touches to make your time there positive, like live music. Real thickshakes served in a metal cup were very surprising (in a good way)!
Fantastic gem of a cafe! You can easily spend a few hours at this centre. The food is excellent, they carry some exceptional drinks and dishes. While also having the classic cafe style dishes.
The setting is nice, and the food and coffee was ok. The scone recipe needs some work - you don't want a scone that crumbles to pieces when you try to spread jam on it. The coffees took 20 minutes to arrive, and we'd finished the scones before the coffee arrived.
TL;dr: scones were too crumbly, coffee took ages.
Was there on Thursday with my wife for the first time. And the service was amazing the vibe there is so relaxing made my hospitality an enjoyable experience. Thank you will come back with the kids as they had a nice playground
Our drinks arrived lukewarm. When we asked for replacements of the two required we only received one. It was lukewarm again. Disgusted.
Fantastic eats in a great, homely, fresh and unique environment. I can’t praise this place enough. Toilets are always clean, staff are always friendly and the food is always good! Parking can be tough on weekends but it’s worth it.
