Ondine - European Brasserie

Good value set menu. Not very attentive staff. There was a nice bar area but staff used it to dry washed crockery and cutlery. We were sat next to a talkative couple. Some partitioning or plant screening would've been nice. Quality food done well. However food just put on table and walk away without telling you what's on the plate. Sommelier wasn't familiar with the wine he recommended. He got the wine region wrong The staff had to be asked for the bill twice. Was an average experience. Left slightly disappointed on what could have been a special night out. But.they saved themselves with a yummy dessert mmmmmmm

This is our local and they are amazing. The food is always delicious, service fantastic and they are very family friendly.

Amazing food, fabulous service, absolutely couldn't fault it!
They were so accommodating of our little baby.
The pork rack was a meal that will stay in my memory for a long time. The meat was melt in your mouth and the sides complimented it so well.
The kingfish starter was fresh and a wonderful way to begin.

Amazing food, everything was so rich and delicious. Really lovely restaurant, ambiance and really enjoyed everything. Nice friendly service too. We absolutely will be back one day soon!

Such a beautiful array of exquisite foods and wines were offered for New Year's Eve dinner. Outstanding friendly, and professional staff made for such a fantastic night.

Service. Wine order forgotten and only after a reminder eventually arrived as we were finishing entree of oysters ($4.50 each.ouch!)
Thought we'll have the Murray Cod and was advised about a special Baked Murray Cod for 2 which we accepted, only to have it sold to another customer.and there wasn't another one.and our Murray Cod as per the menu, was now Swordfish!
OK, we'll have it with chips. The very small serving of fish eventually arrives but it takes yet another reminder for our chips to turn up as we're finishing our fish!
I don't mind it was an expensive meal for what we had, but it'll be a while till I come back.

I would have given zero stars if I could.
My partner and I booked this restaurant weeks in advance to have a special time when we went to Canberra.
We did not get any confirmations from them. When we called to double check the time we were told that all the bookings were cancelled because they had an event for the night.
Very disappointed…
There are other restaurants in Canberra and I suggest that people book those as this one is not reliable.

Excellent service by very polite helpful staff. Menu selection is good, two out of three meals ok, third meal steak for $45 was tough and overpriced, served with ordinary fries. Enjoyed the experience however will not return, too expensive for quality of food.

Great food.but noise and overcrowding a shocker!
Suggest for intending patrons, check if there's going to be a party at the same time.if so give Ondine a miss.

Very nice food and absolutely wonderful service - attentive, polite, timely, but not in your face. Only issue I had is that it gets *very* noisy when full

Dinner at Ondine, staff were very friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere. We started at the bar with some entrée and drinks, very enjoyable. The restaurant was busy and the service was a bit slow, when we did get our table there was a long wait for the main courses. The ricotta gnocchi was fantastic and the Paris-Brest dessert delicious. The beef tenderloin medallion was somewhat disappointing and wouldn’t recommend, wish I’d ordered something else but overall the staff made the effort to ensure that we had a great experience and that in my view is key to a great restaurant. We’ll be back again, thanks to the staff.

One word? Spectacular. Ondine has without a doubt been my favourite dining experience in all of Canberra. The food is inarguably amazing of which was presented in a gorgeous manner by marvellous staff in the most divine setting. If you have the opportunity to take advantage of the chef's skills, I suggest you book a table!

Interesting, nicely cooked dishes that are served by fun staff. The Brasserie has a lovely hum of conversations and laughter. There's nothing pretentious; sit back and enjoy.
And it's best to reserve.

Amazing food, must try's are the pate, sardines, cassoulet and Paris brest. Always a pleasure dining at Ondine.

Amazing surprise 60th!
Daniel and all the staff were incredible both in the lead up to the surprise and on the night. The food was unbelievable and the ambience amazing! Thank you so much for helping make my husband's special day memorable.
