Lava Espresso

Best coffee in Canberra, best staff, best service, best atmosphere. Toasties and breakfast rolls are deliscious. Plus, extensive research by granddaughter has revealed Lava also has the best babycinos.

My family & I thought we'd try a new Cafe and popped in for a coffee. The girl that served me seemed unfriendly and snatched the money out of my hand. There were flies on the pastries which I bought but didn't end up eating and the staff only seemed friendly and chatty with the young professionals who walked in. I'm not sure we would come back. This Cafe has potential to be something great but unfortunately it was a bad experience for us.

Excellent experience. The pastries were amazing (top French level quality) and the Coffe was very good too. Chill and easy, but modern, vibes and the everyone from the staff was nice and friendly (especially Shi, he was lovely!) We will totally come back and try more food!

Excellent coffee and fruit toast, and the ham cheese and tomato toastie (very good quality ham!) Reasonable prices, especially for Kingston

Lovely latte in a modern and welcoming atmosphere. Take your pick of a communal table, single place benches, little tables or the outdoor tables. Chill music and happy staff. I got a medium latte that was silky and smooth (but a tad weaker than my preference).

Fantastic coffee, the long blacks are the perfect temperature every time.
The staff are incredibly friendly and are fantastic to deal with. My favourite Kingston location for a coffee.

I ordered a brekkie roll. The bun felt like it was home made. It was made with fresh ingredients and tasted delicious, albeit I would have put some extra condiments (maybe some extra sauce) to bring it to the next level.

The staff was very friendly, with a smile - although it was raining heavily outside!

Always consistent coffee, super friendly staff, and very thoughtful of coeliacs. So awesome to find a place for a quick, safe, delicious sandwich.

I love the coffee at Lava Espresso and the man who usually serves is very professional but last time I got a sandwich and a coffee and the dark hair lady was extremely rude and grumpy. The service was poor and I’m not going back again.

Excellent coffe today! My husband and family will come back again. Really lovely people that work there too and the inside of the shop is very clean.

Friendly service, great vibes. Lava is always doing something new. Whether that is introducing a new brew/ product/ wine or even new artworks onto the wall, it all adds up to your experience. Always worth while asking the team what is happening. Highly recommend.

The food menu is a bit basic (but tasty still) and the coffee is above average but not worthy of 5 stars.

Still a good little place to enjoy a good cup of coffee.

Really lovely wine list and snacks, they do evenings. Nice tables in the sun (with umbrellas) extremely good hospitality-fu, excellent service. Found this place as a happy accident and will 100% be back. Good spot for an outside (or inside) afternoon beverage. Coffee sounds good too, will have to come back.
