Italian & Sons reviews
70What wonderful food and service. Domenic, the owner, was very personable and easy to chat to. Katrina our wait staff for the evening was so sweet and knew her job well. The food and service were both exceptional. Would definitely go back next time we visit Canberra!
Good Italian restaurant in Canberra overall. Speedy service and flavorful and tender lamb pasta. Recommend.
We had an outstanding experience at dinner last night. Italians & Sons is one of our favourite restaurants anywhere. The wine and service were excellent and every dish was delicious. We shared each dish. The Fusilloni, Hand Cut Pork Sausage, Rainbow Chard & Pancetta and the Tira Mi Su were particularly good. We are only disappointed we don’t live in Canberra, to dine there more regularly.
Thank you so much for the lovely night. Definitely recommend and will bring my team back again soon!
The best Italian meal I have had EVER! Entree, main and dessert were foodgasm inducing! Highly recommend the tiramisu for dessert Staff were very attentive. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Canberra.
We had a wonderful Dinner there last Saturday. Food is fabulous, the restaurant is family run, they’re wonderful people. We loved it. Definitely should be on the go to list when in Canberra.
Wonderful restaurant, food and Service is excellent and restaurant looks great and has great atmosphere
I got really sick after eating in this place. Not recommend at all prices are too high for low food quality.the old man was so creepy as well. Save your money and your health. I came on the Jan 2022!
Never coming back completely different experience from last year!
Yet another fantastic meal from Pasquale and his Team. This is one of my go to restaurants when I want to show off how far Canberra has come in the field of fantastic, world class food. My suggestion is the Rigatoni.simply amazing! A lovely place for the family to visit or for a more intimate meal for two. I've done both and have never been disappointed. Thanks again guys.
So Good!
Service was quick and friendly, lamb rigatoni tasted amazing. Very relaxed atmosphere, will definitely comeback.
Man at the front door and on the phone super rude and unwelcoming. We all said we'd never go back because he was that rude.
Waitresses were lovely, food was pretty good, but yep no one wants to feel like dirt so why go back and spend 100 each for that experience?
We like this restaurant having been here about the same date in 2020 and 2021. Flexibility required as they are never on time for your table, but really who cares as there is a bar next door. Good food, good wine list and the pace of the meal for us was spot on. Will be back again in 2022 for our team function.
The food is to die for, the service is amazing, and the atmosphere is gorgeous, it is by far the best Italian restaurant in Canberra.
I would highly recommend. However, their prices are extremely high, it can cost $300+ per person for a 3 course meal + drinks. If you have deep pockets, it’s worth every cent.
We wanted something really nice on our last night of our honeymoon. This place did not disappoint! The food, service and ambience- just lovely! We went the tasting menu and loved every dish! Thanks so much!
This is fine dining at it’s best. We were in Canberra with family and decided to spoil ourselves. I recommend the focaccia with ricotta and honey. What a start Followed by best braised Octopus I have eaten I then ordered the snapper which was jam packed with flavour For desert I recommend the Tiramisu with a Machiato We washed this down-with 2 bottles for Prosecco heavenly
We had a lovely meal here and would absolutely return again. We started with the focaccia with whipped Ricotta and chestnut honey, which was light and delicious, and a serving of olives. Main course was pasta. I had spinach pappardelle, with lamb ragu, and the lamb was so tender. My partner had conchiglie with pork sausage, chard & pancetta, and greatly enjoyed it. Then tiramisu and a chocolate hazelnut and salted caramel dessert with meringue and poached pear. The service was excellent and I would absolutely return again. There were gluten free pasta options on the menu if needed.
My wife has Coeliac disease and it can be hard to find good gluten free options, particularly pasta. Italian and Sons has hands down, the best gluten free pasta we have ever tried. Their service is excellent, delivery prompt, and food always consistent and of a very high level. We can't to visit in person post-lockdown. Stand out dishes for us are the lamb ragu, potatoes and peppers, and the mushroom with goat's curd. But to be honest, everything has been delicious!
Had high expectations, but my squid ink linguine was quite dry and stuck together. Nice food attempting to pass off as finer dining.
Food was very good. Service was okay. Couldn't catch staff's eye on occasion and there wasn't one individual who looked after us. Not cheap.
Ultimate experience:
Excellent knowledgeable staff.
Crudo was delicious.
Wild Rabbit & Cotechino Agnolotti cooked to perfection.
Thanks for a great dinner. Definitely plan to comeback.
