Indo Cafe

The cafe only opened during lunchtime, and they served in lunchbox. So there's no dine in option, at least that's what I've experienced, because when I ordered the staff just gave me my food already in the plastic box. They have various Indonesian menu, like opor, rendang, gado gado, nasi goreng, mie goreng, and several others. I ordered opor ayam, and mie goreng. Not really disappointed, but not really happy with it as well. The opor was okay, nearly same as the usual I have in Indonesia. But, the mie goreng was just the same as other Asian food. However, the price makes it understandable. It's a proper price and taste for a regular lunchbox. If I want to have an authentic one, then I should go to a finer restaurant.

I have had Indonesian food many times before and being new to Canberra wanted to find an Indonesian restaurant. I was extremely disappointed. The food was very bland. Nothing like the delicious authentic Indonesian dishes I've eaten many a time. If you are ever in Sydney and want to try the most delicious Indonesian dishes, the JAVA RESTAURANT in Randwick, will have you coming back over and over.

Great meals and prices. Little bit more rice pleaseeee. Updated - went back the next day as I did like the meal and this time asked for more rice which was handed over at no cost even though I offered. Truly nice people and food here

Strongly recommended for anyone working in the city for lunch. They serve $10 lunch meals which are perfect portion and it does not compromise on the quality. For serious chilli eaters, I recommend nasi goreng with shallot and chilli.

This is by far the best ‘hole in the wall’ takeaway food outlet in Canberra city. I’m often getting a lunch box of yummy Indonesia curry or stir frys. Excellent value, always hot, comes with a drink and appetiser for $10. The guy who serves is super friendly, and does it with a smile! Also has a brilliant range of vegetarian dishes.
