Guru Mawson Cafe and Bakehouse reviews
43First class destination with top notch coffees and a central location in the southlands mawson district.
I’ve had a few coffees from here over the past couple years and found each of my coffees to be bitter and scalding hot. Not too enjoyable. Service is great however and breakfast menu looks good.
Bacon and egg roll was nice. Coffee was ok, buy I had to add a sugar to it, which I normally don't have sugar with my coffee.
This is a decent sized cafe with good indoor seating and pleasant outdoor seating. Service was quick and staff were very pleasant
After a long wait for the big breakfast it was really poor quality, the scrambled eggs had been microwaved, they were bland and rubbery, the bacon was cooked in an oven and had no crisp to it, the toast was more like warm bread, the kransky was dry and over cooked, the hashbrown was from a frozen packet and nothing had any seasoning on it.
Learn to cook if you’re going to charge $26 for a meal. I could have done a better job at home.
Enjoyed a delightful cup of coffee in a pleasant and inviting setting. Grateful for the experience.
Great place to unwind and relax, as you enjoy a truly wonderful coffee and "treats". Friendly staff make you feel right at home. Great for pet owners to sit outside and spend quality time with their owners.
Very low quality coffee, with extra waiting time, order two reg cap, had to wait 30 mins. Not recommended at all.
Fantastic, great service, great product and I enjoyed my outing. Thanks to the Staff at Guru Mawson
The “chef” microwaves all the food out of a freezer. Who microwaves a potato rosti? Much better options around Mawson
Good outdoor seating with sufficient shade on a hot morning.
Not bad for kids who can run around in a fairly protected space in the square.
Baked goods aren't freshly made but as expected for a coffee chain.
The restaurant staff are very silent and unfriendly. They just keep the delivery drivers waiting for like 30 to 45 minutes for a single order. They are under staffed and it impacts for the customer and the online orders.
Best coffee shop in Canberra. Iv been a coffee drinker since my teen years. Coffee guru Mawson are the best. Coffee is consistently excellent. Iv been coming here for years and since the new owners took over it has Always been a pleasant friendly experience. All the staff are very friendly.coffee is that good that we often come back twice a day:) highly recommend them.
Really love this place but got disappointed when they served cold lunch in takeaway i never thought they would do this to me.i felt the food was not fresh
Very friendly and covid safe, Coffee was good, strong and nice size, food looked and smelled great
The new owner has absolutely turned this place around. In the past few years it has become a wonderful destination for a tasty meal, beautiful coffee and stunning cakes.
Dropped in for a quick coffee and stayed for hours.
The staff treat you as a friend, the coffee is pure Italy.
Before we knew it we were eating healthy hearty food.
The reasonable prices don't reflect the excellent quality of the food.
I have always had a good experience at Guru Mawson Cafe and Bakehouse even if they were struggling with keeping up with the orders. Food is always of good quality and coffee spot on.
A really friendly coffee shop. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our rather large group. The consensus was that the coffee was good and the pastries weren't bad either
Consistently great food and coffee. Staff are polite and friendly. The only reason I shop at
Southlands Mawson is to have a break at Guru. It's can be a busy little hub, but that usually is a good sign for a cafe. It's nice to sit outside under an umbrella when the weather is good. Love that they have lactose free milk and gluten free options too!
