Curtin Medical Practice reviews
10I recently moved to Curtin. Called this practice up explaining that I just moved to Curtin and was checking in to see if there are any GPs that are taking in new patients, and the receptionist said, "Yes there is a doctor taking in new patients". Booked in for a 12: 30 and arrived at 12: 30 for the appointment. Told the receptionist I have a 12: 30 but don't remember the doctor. Without looking up at the screen, the dude said we are fully booked and that I should go to the other practice nearby.terrible service.
Regular doctor was empathic and helpful, but older Caucasian female doctor was terrible. I received borderline abusive treatment. Very disappointed. I never went back. Sorry for the negative review but this is an honest description of my experience.
Attended here for COVID vaccination; this is not my usual practice, I live in another suburb. This is a small practice but, I was taken aback by how much thought and preparation went into preparing their clinic for the smooth flow of patients in and out without any cross-contact. The doctor and 2 receptionists were genuinely friendly and helpful.
I've had my very first appointment here and the doctor who looked after me is very knowledgable and friendly. It felt like they treat you as a proper person and a friend rather than another patient to knock off the queue. Very professional, friendly and highly recommended practice!
I booked an appointment for a general gym fitness assessment; I arrived 5 minutes early and was told that "it won't be long" by the desk staff; I then continued to wait 40 minutes with what turned out to be 2 people in line before me; after 45 minutes of waiting I had to leave for a work meeting. This is just awful time management. I understand that there may be delays, but I consider it common courtesy to flag this upfront. After all, I am expected to arrive on time as well. A 40 minute wait is not "it won't be long"! Very poor management, very poor communication! I do not recommend booking with Curtin Medical Practice. Especially not if you're actually sick.
Practice is a little run down with the waiting room needing a bit of work, doesn’t bulk bill and a visit is $135 which is expensive.
Doctor is nice but i think he teaches other doctors as he seems to always have someone with him in the consultation appointment which is a little uncomfortable.

Caroline - the doctors need to attend house calls mostly for elderly patients or those with mobility issues almost everyday and sometime several times a day. They then need to get back to the surgery to see other patients. It would not be fair for them having to fight for parking spots.
Can't comment on the practice except that they have taken an extra 4 carparks from a public carpark for their exclusive medical use 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. The rest of the community apparently are less deserving.
Good doctors but spent a long time waiting for a 930 appointment. Reception seems a bit chaotic.
