I was amazed by its beauty. However, one thing that really stood out was the sheer number of Flying Foxes in the park! It was an unexpected sight, with way too many of them hanging around. But aside from this, the park itself is a stunning place to spend time in. The greenery, the serene atmosphere, and the well-maintained paths make it an ideal spot for relaxation and leisure. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat amidst nature. Just be ready for the Flying Foxes - they’re quite a sight!

I did the 5km fun run, this was my first time in the park and running in a fun run. I'm so glad this place was so gorgeous and clean, it made running much more enjoyable. As a person who only periodically enjoys running, this was a nice bonus I was not expecting.

Came here for the Floriade, it was absolutely lovely, the flowers were arranged so beautifully and it wasn't too crowded. The food options were somewhat pricey.

Visited during Floriade and it was a beautiful day. Take your water bottle, there are a few places to fill up or spend about $6 for 2. Bring a hat or an umbrella it can be difficult to get shade in some places

I recently visited Commonwealth Park, and I must say, it's a true gem nestled within the bustling cityscape. As a nature lover, I was enchanted by the park's abundant greenery, picturesque landscapes, and tranquil atmosphere.

The park boasts a well-maintained pathway system that meanders through lush gardens, creating a serene environment perfect for a leisurely stroll or a jog. The attention to detail in landscaping is evident, with vibrant flowers and shrubs adding pops of color to the scenery.

One of the must visit places in Canberra. There's an exhibition as well detailing the history of Canberra as well as Australia. Just as you walk out of the exhibition building, you can see the park and the lake or you can go straight to the park. It's an awesome place to sit down especially in the evening. You get a view of the city, the bridge and all the lights.

Spectacular park especially during Floriade Flower Festival. Definitely worth visiting during this occasion.

The park has many small ponds and water features, walking trails, bike paths, sculptures and memorials. The park includes Regatta Point and has a view of the National Gallery, High Court, and National Library on the other side of the lake.
Commonwealth Park is the home of many events hosted in Canberra. Among them is Floriade which is flower festival, an annual event that has been running since 1988. Floriade festival starts from 17 Sep To 16 Oct.it has two parts day and night festivals. Day festival in free but for the night one you have to pay. Finding car park during any festival season is a nightmare. Also popular festivals attract many tourists to the area so expect crowds.

Came here for the famous Florida.
Worth the 3hours drive from Sydney.
Parking was easy on that day. Little bit raining but tulip pretty as they are.
Reasonable price for the food.
Little bit too early for that date. Might be full blossom next week.

Floriade Spring Show and entertainment. Free entry and a beautiful display of tulips, ranunculus, violets, pansies, and more. Food vans and live music ️

Canberra is a really boring city. One of the best things you can do is walking around this park.

Floriade 2022 - didn't meet my expectations, was very disappointing. Country fair with lots of little over-priced shops, lines for food I can get close to home. A few flowers here and there, which, yes, were pretty, but seemed more like decorations for the shops than the centrepiece of the event. I can forgive the tons of people, as it's a heavily publicised event on a beautiful sunny day. I hoped to see flowers, many flowers, nope, not there. Won't be going again.

It's Floriade, the great flower festival time (Spring Fest) in Commonwealth Park, Canberra. An unforgettable experience that never gets old!

Not what it used to be. Crowded/more people than flowers, poor display and the stalls occupy more space than the flowers. Just not worth the drive from Sydney.

Not a good experience when you need a companion dog with you. I was interogated many times by people who worked at floriade and other people for needing a companion dog
