Canberra Yacht Club reviews
20A top knot location with a beautiful view and atmosphere. It's perfect for family picnics or team lunches.
Great little sailing club with friendly and welcoming members. Love going for a little send and then having a little rip and tear by throwing a few back at Snapper
Food was poor. Supermarket pizza bases and pretty bare. Wagu burger was small and didn’t seem to actually be wagu. Both were overpriced. $29 for a small burger and a few chips is wild.
Hi I made a comment and was asked to contact a club representative by email and did so. Unfortunately I'm yet to receive a reply.
The new Snapper is open, fish and chips was as good as ever however there is now no free parking after 30 min. 1 hour is $20 2 is $30 totally nuts! You won’t be going there for a coffee or to visit the boat shop at those prices. You can redeem parking if you spend over? $ (I forget exactly and the only signage I found was on the parking machine at the boom gate). To redeem parking you can’t do it at Snapper you have to go upstairs? Lack of trust (?) here makes it harder for your customers! Bin the crazy parking prices or open up a free parking area. Oh and I know it’s new but there was 6 staff behind the counter at snapper (12 o’clock) and only one serving with only two registers, you had two registers previously, if your hoping for many more customers get a third! I’ll be back as it’s the best location for fish and chips in Canberra. Shame about the parking.
The food here is delicious, the serving sizes are decent, and the prices are very reasonable. Very keen to visit again soon!
We like the Canberra Yacht Club restaurant.
With boats coming in after the Wednesday afternoon race, the view is wonderful and the setting is calm.
The food is fresh and nicely cooked (including my son's raw steak) and the bill was $80/head for 2 courses with aperitifs, wine, and coffee.
One thing that I would ask is that one of the waitresses become more responsive to taking orders.
Thank you for a wonderful place to talk and eat.
Excellent food and service. Well worth a visit if you are looking for a meal that is a bit higher than pub food.
As a long term volunteer for Sailability I love Canberra Yacht Club. But the restaurant is great, the bar is great, the coffee shop and its a wonderful place to have a great day
Quick food service, great area but the weather can smash you around. Good if there were more protected areas from the wind.
Booking had us in a very noisy room with a 2 course meal, which we didn't expect. Fortunately we were able to more to another area and order off the bar menu, which was OK, but the kitchen mixed up several orders and half the group waited more than hour after others had eaten.
With a 2 or 3 course fixed price menu during Covid times. Lovely location on the lake. Also available is take away fish and chips from downstairs, or from the deck you can get small plate offerings and pizza as well as drinks at a more affordable price. Staff are very attentive, cool air conditioning for summer dining. Many options for families, informal and formal diners. Southern cross members get a small discount off their meals.
Excellent! We attended the restaurant for a family function recently and alerted the waitress to food allergies of two family members. The staff were they very thorough in their questioning to determine the severity of the reaction and the type of allergies. They went out of their way to ensure our meals would be prepared safely. We were very impressed when the chef came to our table personally to ensure there would be no risk of any foods containing the allergens. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and it was lovely having the Lake as a backdrop.
Just not the same. Place was freezing because of air con breakdown during Reno. Food nice but ordinary. Just a bit blah.
Great spot on the lake yummo fish and chips and a couple of cold bevvies to wash it down very enjoyable
Lovely views, thought the service was a bit stuffy though. The place had about as much character as a boiled egg. Food was decent.
Great place for an afternoon pic nic. Fish n chips to go. A little pricey, but worth it for the experience and the views.
Not your usual club.dining set elegantly. Experienced staff (from butler, waiter, bar). Parking available.
Found this location too be family friendly & peaceful, come have a drink & a light meal, enjoy!
ENJOYED A BEAUTIFUL FISH AND CHIPS LUNCH TODAY WITH A GROUP OF 5 GREAT SETTING BESIDE THE LAKE FISH AND CHIPS DID NOT DISAPOINT
