Canberra Reptile Zoo

Absolutely love this place! Lots of animals! Very interesting and fun displays and very informative and helpful staff! One of my favourite places to go in Canberra!

We had a wonderful experience for our birthday party at the Reptile Zoo. Hands down the best kids party we have organised so far. All staff were friendly and encouraged the children to participate at their own pace while respecting their boundaries. The party was fun, engaging and was very well organised.

Nice place to take the kids. Opportunities to pat lizards and see snakes up close. Picnic and play area outside.

Great place to visit especially for the kids. Also, if you want to get started with reptiles, talk to these guys.

Came here for my son's birthday which he had a blast! Peter who presented the reptile show, captivated both the kids and the adults with his performance. All the staff were super helpful also.
My kids love coming here but the party gave it an extra boost of excitement.

Had a birthday party for my son here. They gave a great show for the kids and then a tour of the zoo. They helped corral all the kids (nearly 20!), helped get through the activities (food, cake etc) which was so appreciated as with that many kids it felt chaotic. Peter did the show and was great with the kids, kept them well entertained and handled my sons over exuberance wonderfully. Everyone was lovely to deal with, couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Friendly and super knowledgeable staff. Brought the young kids here to introduce them to some of our less-often seen wildlife. They loved it!

A great little zoo in the suburbs focused on reptiles! A surprisingly large variety of species

Good selection of wildlife and reptiles.the lady who did our birthday reptile demonstration with the kids was so good at her job. She was confident and stern and spoke with authority but was super kind to tht kids and very informative. She answered all their questions and did a great job

Felt very sorry for the tawny owl in such a small cage. Felt sorry for the crocodile in a tiny space. Overall, I worried for a lot of the animals there.

We had our 7 year olds birthday party here. Couldn't fault it, everything was perfect and the kids enjoyed every part. Staff were friendly and very helpful right through from booking to the end of the party. Thank you

Great experience, able to touch some of the reptiles in the enclosures with open tops, son was able to pet baby aligator and possum as well.

Great collection of reptiles especially snakes. My son was randomly picked up, by staff over there, to feed an owl (that is currently under training). You can imagine how excited he was.

Absolutely awesome experience! Staff are wonderful and engaging, kids were amazed to be able to touch some of the reptiles. Such a wonderful place.

Animals were in very small enclosures and one snake and at least a half dozen turtles were deceased in their enclosures. Many animals were in enclosures far too small for their size-especially the large Saltwater Crocodile-and most of the enclosures were unclean. Turtles and bluetongues especially were way too packed together and several reptiles were allowed to be handled without supervision. Glass case on the Inland Taipan was coming loose which I noticed when a child tapped on the case.

Overall inhumane and unsafe conditions. Expected something fun to do. Instead I just ended up sad and angry.

The kids had fun. However we were all worried and put off to see the kookaburra repetitively launching itself into the glass, a lot of the animals are in really small enclosures, or super overcrowded which was sad to see not sure about people being able to put their hands in to grab so many of them too. Just unethical and sad unfortunately

Single mum afternoon with 3 boys (5,3 and 1 yrs) attraction was fun. Hands-on experiences, plus small play area at the end.

This is a truly fabulous place for kids’ birthday parties. They have fabulous, helpful, engaged, (patient!) staff and volunteers every time we go.

It’s a proper local small business and they probably don’t charge enough! 6yo had a great time today.

What an awesome place. I was a little sceptical at first, given this place is tucked away from the main road. But it's one of the first places I've been to that allow the kids to get hands on with some of the reptiles.

Kids got to touch turtles, lizards and get real close to a crocodile. There was also a volunteer running around with some of the reptiles, allowing people to touch them.

Well done, well thought out.

So good. We had a birthday party for our girls here. The show they put on for the kids is awesome, really funny and interesting at the same time. All the kids were included and got to see and touch the animals that were brought out.
They also loved their time looking around the zoo.
