Cafe Stepping Stone Canberra reviews
28 Nice atmosphere and spacious sitting. The staff were well trained, friendly and authentic, most importantly they seemed happy. Like the variety of mushrooms on the toast but slightly too oily. The coffee was a let down, otherwise it would have been 5 stars.
UPDATED to 3 stars from 4 for Food. The shop response failed to understand what is a good cup of coffee. Machine and beans alone cannot make good coffee. Barista is the key.
Lovely little vegetarian cafe at the straithnan arts community. Has great views of the brindalbellas. I absolutely loved the congee they used to do. But hasn't been on the menu for a while. But there's still lots of good things.
Lovely little cafe in the outskirts of Canberra. The food and the drinks were delicious (highly recommend the turmeric latte), and the setting overlooking the valley could not have been better. A big plus is the ethical aspect behind the cafe, which is a registered charity that supports the inclusion of disadvantaged people in the workplace.
Warm fire for a winter’s morning, excellent food, sticky chai was divine and the staff super friendly and kind.
The Saturday evening pizza night is first class. We had the mezze Pplate and a couple of pizzas. They were excellent, great flavour, not overdone, with attentive staff. I very highly recommend.
Everything about Stepping Stone is wonderful. The food is so delicious, drinks are great (especially the sticky infused chai), the staff are lovely and the setting is just beautiful. This is one of our fave breakfast spots in Canberra
This is a really lovely cafe with a country feel. The food is vegetarian and is delicious. There is plenty of seating inside and outside seating has amazing views towards the Brindabella's.
Definitely worth trying.
We celebrated our work Christmas party at Cafe Stepping Stone last weekend, and it was such a wonderful success! Everyone has commented following the event how incredible the food and service was, and how they created such a relaxed atmosphere. The food was spectacular and there was so much variety and quantity that no one walked away hungry or disappointed. Our tables were positioned under the trees on the grass with a beautiful outlook of the mountains, made even better by a beautiful sunny day and sunset. Needless to say I think many of us will be back and we will spread the word about how incredible this venue is. Thank you to Vanessa for helping me organise this event and hosting a great night.
Thank you for accommodating our request to change seating. Food and service excellent. Will come again.
Lovely quiet spot. Limited range for lunch but has all day breakfast. Coffee acceptable.
Lots of artisan made nicknacks for sale.
I had booked a table of eight. My booking was confirmed straight away. The table was set up when we arrived. Our orders were taken, and food served at our table seamlessly. The staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. They always take the trouble to communicate with you and answer your questions promptly. I go there regularly with a group, and have always had an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend Stepping Stones Cafe!
All four of us had a great meal! We have a great meal every time we go!
The only problem is deciding what to get. My partner had an excellent pumpkin soup (sounds ridiculous, but it was) and I had mushrooms on toast (d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s) and a friend had the mushroom pie (also excellent, from memory) and her partner had a curried dish which he reports was also excellent.
Highest recommendation!
Went there for the pizza night and it was absolutely splendid! The pizzas were so delicious and so well cooked. I forgot to bring warm clothes and they had blankets to keep over my lap. Such a wonderful outdoor area too, can’t speak highly enough of this cafe
A hidden gem! Everything was delicious, the mushrooms with grilled brocollini was the best breakfast I've had this year.
Beautiful food in a beautiful garden setting only 20 minutes from Canberra city centre. Birdos will delight in the fairy wrens hopping around in the yard.
Service is warm and friendly.
Food is yummy as - we had the quiche and Mushroom and kimchi toastie which both came with a large helping of side salad. All vegetarian which was great for my companion and I. Chai tea was super tasty and their juices fresh with the perfect amount of ice.
I would highly recommend! We will be back to sample more of the seasonal menu.
Combine some food with a visit to the art gallery nearby.
Fantastic food, great service and an unbeatable location. Menu is really unique- you will find things on this menu that you won’t get at other cafes.
I loved the scones, it inspired me to bake some. Lovely and cosy, and even has a fireplace. Staff are very friendly, too.
First visit to this charming cafe' today with a friend; lovely environment, gorgeous food and no problem being catered to as a vegan. The food was brought promptly, was delicious and nutritious and the whole atmosphere and good service made it a most delightful lunch/day indeed. I shall definitely be returning.
Lovely cafe and beautiful galleries! A hidden gem in Canberra. Don’t forget to have a walk outside of the cafe. There’re some studios for the local artists which is funded by the ACT Government.
Our son took us to Stepping Stone for Mother’s Day brunch. Lovely country atmosphere and gorgeous old farmhouse gallery. Food was fabulous and we had the special share breakfast platter. Thanks Vanessa, Hannah and Rina.
