78Good food (fresh, tasty presented beautiful ly), service is competent and friendly and loved those windows. Can get busy so always a smart move to book if visiting with a group
Staff were very professional, friendly and accommodating re setting up (we had 7 children in our group)!
The staff could not have been more helpful and were very kind accommodating our group at short notice when it grew from 5 to 7 people. There were a range of dietary requirements in our group that were all catered for through the menu choices. The surroundings were beautiful and comfortable and the acoustics made it easy for my elderly mother to hear the conversation in our largish group. The gorgeous flowers on every table were perfect. I look forward to our next visit. Thank you!
Good coffee, good service, good range of food. Easily met and surpassed my standard breakfast quality indicator of a long black and a bacon and egg roll. Can get busy later in the morning when the lanyard brigade descend from nearby government offices, but usually plenty of seating to be had. If only they would re-open their "little sister" outlet, Paperplate, downstairs!
My friend &nI had a great lunch. I love your caramelised onion, leek and potato soup and my friend had it at my suggestion.
Cake and coffee to finish. Perfect!
Meals were good size. Not too little or not too much. Staff very knowledgeable and pleasant. Menu is extensive with plenty of add ons and prices are very reasonable. Our two menu items were very tasty
I may have explained it badly. However, I was disappointed that I had to pay almost $20 for a product I didn't want, and even less ingredients than the original menu, and with extra sauces and other items I didn't want. I probably won't come back again.
We recently had lunch with old friends visiting Canberra and really enjoyed our meal at Bookplate. The menu offers a range of options, from tempting cakes and pastries to brunch and lunch options. Service was friendly and efficient and our food came promptly even though the place was quite busy. And some nice wines available.
Beautiful Cafe and delicious food. Amazing glass windows created a stunning atmosphere to dine in
The best pumpkin salad Ive ever tasted thus far! The crew are trained in the highest standards of hospitality here and are an absolute customer delight! What could be better is the cleanliness of the outdoor seating areas given the fact that the bird poo issue maybe inevitable. Overall a fantastic place for lunch with wonderful views of Lake Burley Griffin!
Service was as fabulous as the food!
I loved the vibe of the place and I am so glad I managed to be in a gorgeous cafe within such an iconic library
Such a beautiful cafe right inside the library. Wonderful staff and selection of food to eat. Got the passion fruit cheesecake, which was the perfect amount of sweet and tangy. Also had a mocha and cappuccino, which tasted good. Definitely recommend this cafe!
Beautiful location. The food and service were fabulous. We went on a Sunday morning which was very busy but the service was great. Definitely coming back!
My husband and I had a booking for breakfast on Saturday 7 January. We were very pleased with the service and the food was delicious.
We stumbled on to this cafe as we visited the library and we were so happy that we did. The food was very good and the ambience was fantastic too with the stain glass windows. It was so nice to get delicious food with a nice drink in such a lovely setting. It was pretty busy though, a booking is definitely recommended.
A lovely setting for breakfast, brunch or lunch within the beautiful National Library building. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. My crumbed chicken burger was just okay but the beef pie and pumpkin and quinoa salad were apparently very good as was the focaccia. Coffees were all pretty good too. Great central location to meet up with friends and usually plenty of ‘expensive’ parking.
I love Bookplate Cafe.
Fabulous location, stunning windows, always welcoming, good food and friendly staff.
The Avocado was delicious. The combination of flavours with the sesame crunch was so different we were impressed. From what we saw it might have been the most popular dish on the menu at Monday lunchtime. Will certainly consider again and recommend.
Great place next in the library. Had the breakfast roll with hash brown which was spit on with taste. The coffee was made perfect. The best thing is you can get in there and have a great breakfast and you are right there at the library and across the road from Questacon which is perfect. There is also plenty of parking (3.50 an hour or 14.50 for full day). No complaints would go again!
I absolutely loved my brunch of eggs on sourdough with avocado and bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly and it was all delicious.
