Good sized park for bringing a family or friends for a picnic. A play area for the kids. Bbqs were around as well as toilet facilities. Plenty of parking. Good place to go even for a walk or sit and admire the view.
Good play area that the kids love - with dedicated little kids playground too that is under shade cloth. Toilet facilities are good enough and there are bins available too. Only issues were the lack of shade in the bigger kids play areas makes it a bit too hot during the height of summer. There is swimming available in the lake too (fenced off area) but check online for the water quality before going in as it can be closed for swimming sometimes
A lovely and large picnic and recreation area. Lots of grass and trees and water on three sides. Easily accessible by car (plenty of parking) or bicycle from Canberra City centre.
Came here on a Monday evening when no one was around and the kids enjoyed having free reign. Well spaced out, with shaded sections for sun protection. Wheelchair accessible swing, heaps of picnic tables and a handful of free bbqs.
Great spot with lake views and plenty of space for lunch. There is a bike trail connecting to the park as well.
Good playground, plenty of grassed area, picnic tables, & fairly clean toilet block & bbq's which are hit & miss if they are working
Beautiful open park with playgrounds for a range of ages. Great facilities - toilets, BBQ, picnic tables.
Plenty of space and equipment for the kids, limited shade apart from shade sails and a few trees.
No food available nearby, bringing own food or picnic recommended.
Great place to spend a relaxed afternoon with friends and family. Plenty of public BBQ, the kids play zone is well maintained and lots of benches to sit sand watch the world go by.
Our go-to weekend barbeque area. Kids love the playground here. Hoping a coffee cart will be coming here soon.
Plenty of space to run around and kick a footy or play on the equipment. Plenty of BBQs for a sausage sizzle with lots of parking making in a convenient Saturday stop.
This is a wonderful park for families, walkers, cyclers, rowers. The views to the city and the western lake are to die for.
This place is just awesome - good walks around and places to walk the (on lead) dog. A really great place to do family get togethers. Some of the BBQ spots have lake swimming as well which is terrific for a summertime cool off. The kids play equipment spots are pretty impressive (for a kid) too.
The park is wonderful except not enough rubbish bins. No one has plastic shopping bags in their cars anymore. Park still lovely.
Wonderful park, has great BBQs, picnic tables and playgrounds. The playgrounds are epic and great for kids. Accessible parking, toilets and lakeside view. There’s also a marked out swimming area, but you can’t always swim in the water because if the blue green algae, but there is generally a sign indicating which days are ok or not. It’s beautiful spot and close to the city, and perfect for a picnic or work Christmas party!
Lots of open space with some good soft grassy areas, picnic tables under shade, great views of the lake, good spot to put a kayak in, great playground.
Big and nice park on the lake with plenty of parking slots, children area, well maintained toilets, lots of BBQ areas, and mountain view.
It is one of the family friendly place for birthdays or other events. A big playground for kids and many BBQ facilities surrounded by lake make the place exceptional.
