Bicicletta Restaurant reviews
62Totally a wonderful restaurant. Been a few times now and will go back. Background music but we can still talk and hear each other, mood lighting but we can still see each other. Clean and very welcoming. The menu has got a few suggestions but not so many you get overwhelmed. Excellent and friendly service.
Qualified 4 stars.
Last time I was here, we were served 'corked' red wine. Trouble was that it was from the last third of the bottle - so some poor sods also got 'corked' wine and just put it down to low quality of the restaurant - rather than something outside their control. Hint: restaurants should always check the wines before serving.
This visit: Simple pizza of a good standard. Chosen dark ale - not available. So I drank water. The different staff asked me what is like to order instead - so not coordinated. Hint: if you've got a paper drinks list, it isn't hard to keep it up to date. And it would be nice if your focus was not so heavily on IPA-style beers - leaving few options for people who want something different. Wine list for an Italian-style venue is pretty middle-of-the-road.
Noise levels in a half filled space we're higher than we like.
Surprisingly exceeds my expectations. Very good experience overall. The food design are simple but well presented, all the three dishes we ordered are fresh and full of flavours. Price and quantity are both reasonable given the location.
Notably the service is good and professional for a Sunday noon visit, despite there is only one staff on shift, really appreciate.
Great for a quick pasta or pizza before a movie. Good range of food and drinks and the staff are lovely.
Food was not too bad and the pizzas actually looked pretty good. Unfortunately the service was really terrible. I’ve not had such poor service in a very long time. Not sure if it was just an off night but we wouldn’t be prepared to risk it again. As a Peppers hotel the cleanliness and state of the bathrooms was also very bad. Overall very disappointing.
Ate here a few years ago and enjoyed it, however went back tonight and it has deteriorated, from the initial service to the food was not a good experience.
Very rushed service, not one staff member seem to know who they had to look after, therefore multiple staff asking the same question several minutes apart, food had no flavour and came out like warm and we decided to leave before choosing dessert which was disappointing. Appeared that a few guests felt the same, we were able to hear conversations nearby.
I wouldn't recommended eating here unless you are in a rush and have no clue how Italian food should taste.
Food good but service was abysmal. Staff obviously inexperienced with no connection to kitchen. One main was delivered before entree. I had to actually ask for them to take it back and put under heat lamps until we finished entrees (they just left the plate on the table while serving entrees). We had been waiting a long time for mains when they came out and asked us whether we wanted dessert! They then put our mains on priority with kitchen. Mains arrived up to 10mins apart (there was only 5 of us) and the aforementioned early arrival had actually been sitting under the heat lamp for a long time. Staff didnt really seem to know the menu or (relatively short) wine list or really know what was going on
Awesome Italian restaurant adjacent to the Peppers Gallery hotel. Great choice if staying at the hotel for the night. The lasagne was absolutely delicious; very tasty with plenty of cheese and a delicious sauce. Good selection of wines and beers.
Such a noisy Restraunt. Had a risotto of the day and the rice was hard uncooked. Beef cheek is so so. Just not worth going for sure.
A small atmospheric restaurant in an up-market hotel. Freshly prepared food of a good quality with an Italian theme. Most dishes are suitable for sharing if you wish. Informal, relaxed but professional service. Indoor, outdoor and outdoor-covered tables are available.
There is also a bar just outside the main entrance of the restaurant if you want to have for a drink before or after the meal. Bookings essential. Pay parking on the street is available.
Service was fantastic- friendly and efficient. I encountered a number of different staff and all were professional and easy to deal with. Appreciated the wine recommendation when we were struggling to decide. Food was good without being great.
Such a lovely eclectic feel. Delectable food. Pizza like true Italian style. Risotto made vegan was delicious. It was busy, but the staff worked tirelessly to accommodate everyone's needs. Would highly recommend.
You don't come across many restaurants that can't even salt their food properly. The highlight of our crab linguine was the tomato garnish. The crab and and pasta was completely bland. The pizza was dry, not enough tomato sauce and stingy with prosciutto. Very disappointing. Service was good though and the bartender made good cocktails. At least we know not to come back here.
Ate in the bar in the Peppers Gallery hotel - good service, I had the calimari and caprese salad. Good place to relax and enjoy a beer (Moretti on tap).
My fave Italian restaurant in Canberra. Amazing food, great atmosphere and wonderful service
The food and staff were amazing. The beef cheek was tender and you could cut it with a spoon.
It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing and authentic Italian food. Beef cheek and Lasagna are the best dish we ever had.
Can’t wait to come back once we are in town
Definitely spot on!
From the starter to the dessert (superlative Nutella pizza) the quality and tastes of everything was outstanding, my have been the best meal I have ever been served. Carbonara was to die for. Service was delightful and very professional.
Top one in Canberra and surround?
My new favourite Italian Restaurant in Canberra. Can't recommend it enough.
The food, wine, service and staff were all excellent. A very enjoyable dining experience.
Just horrendous. The worst service I've had in a long time. The menu they have on their webpage isn't the menu they have in the restaurant. They had specials but by 7.30 on a Saturday night the main specials had run out. When our meals came out the wrong meals were given to the wrong people, meals were missing and some of the meals that came out were just woeful - I could make better with pasta sauce in a jar from my local IGA. The wines were very underwhelming - and I tried 3 different ones - WHEN I could get the waitress' attention to bring me another glass. Seriously the whole experience was terrible and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
