Omg the best hotel I have stayed in a very long time. So so clean. The staff and the cleaners are well presented the bed and the whole one bedroom apartment was just perfect. We slept so well. We stayed from Boxing Day until the 30th I wish we stayed longer. We will definitely stay here again.

This hotel was so much above our expectations. One bedroom apartment which was huge with fantastic balcony with mountain views. Bed was incredibly comfortable. So clean and spacious, two TVs, laundry, big dining table. Location was excellent, walking distance to Braddon eateries and city.

Excellent hotel stay in Canberra, rooms are very well appointed, clean and quiet. Easy secure parking onsite. The bed was super comfortable. Very nice and friendly staff from the concierge to the cleaners. The hotel is located in the best position in Canberra within 5 minutes walk to excellent eating, shopping and attractions. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in really convenient location. Walking distance to most places. Light rail and bus transit centre 100 metres away. Rooms clean and spacious. Bed very comfortable. Book the spa suite. Definitely worth the extra. Staff very helpful. Couldn't fault it. Definitely recommend.

Excellent large rooms, quiet, great showers and beds. The option to skip a room clean in exchange for a meal discount is really good!

Very large rooms that are quite new. Our room was a 1BR with full kitchen, washing machine, large bathroom and balcony. Have a large empty fridge and a separate mini bar with surprisingly decent prices. Will be back again soon. Very good value and excellent location near Braddon cafes and close to Civic.

Set centrally with a short walk to the business areas of Canberra, the major shopping centre, and several choice food options the hotel is in a great position for any visitor. The rooms are clean and well prepared. The size is good in particular the suits are good for longer stays. The attached restaurant is excellent for dinner, breakfast, and room service.

The staff service is consistently excellent and I would recommend the hotel.

Most uncomfortable beds in Canberra. Great place as long as you don't intend to get any sleep.

This was a great place to stay. Bed soooo comfortable. Great location. Friendly staff. Would be nice if it had packets of instant coffee in rooms also.minor detail though. Breakfast good. Car parking great. Will definitely stay again.

Two star hotel disguised as four star. Beds are extremely soft and sink in too much. Bathroom cleaning could be improved. Location is the only positive thing about this hotel.

Great location and hotel. Poor service from the staff at reception. They were unhelpful and rude. We arrived early but the staff showed no interest in trying to assist with access to our room a touch earlier like most hotels do. I also booked through Expedia which included free parking. When I checked out they charged me for parking. They were not interested in me explaining that I had free parking and insisted that when you book through a third party they charge parking. When I returned to the reception to show them the booking confirmation showing free parking the staff member begrudgingly said they would refund the parking. Poor service for a service based industry. It wasn’t about the cost…. It was the attitude and way it was handled. Plenty of other places to stay in Canberra that I’m sure are more welcoming to their guests.

A great hotel, centrally located in Canberra. The rooms are modern and comfortable, with one of the best hotel beds and showers I've experienced recently. There was also a nice, small balcony, though with limited view apart from other hotel rooms. For me, a downside to the room was the minibar, which entirely takes the place of a normal fridge unless you request that it be emptied. The gym on B2 was very good and I had it all to myself on a Sunday night and Tuesday morning. The hotel doesn't have many other facilities but that's fine given its location. The basement parking is very good, if a little tricky to negotiate in bigger cars. The reception staff were lovely upon check-in and check-out.

Went to Canberra for our first quick visit, hated Canberra, but got to admit the Avenue Hotel was certainly a highlight of the trip. Room was exceptionally comfortable, very reasonable priced with the most comfortable bed I ever slept in. They also had a novel idea where there was a notice on the dresser saying, if you liked the bed, scan this data for details now that you had a test run. Great way of finding out if the bed you buy suits you!

Well rested after a short stay at Avenue. The spa and service was rejuvenating and refreshing. The workers are very nice also.

We have stayed here a few times, hotel itself is clean and close to most things, but last time it took them 2 weeks to return my deposit I informed them of this this time and they tried blaming the bank, even though everywhere else we stayed the deposit was returned in a few days, sometimes the next day, I can't see why they do this.

We recently stayed at the hotel for two nights. We were disappointed with the service. On the arrival date, the check in system was down and there were quite a few guests been waiting for check in for a while including us. We didn’t mind to wait as we understand this issue was outside of your control. However, the other issues kept happening. The A/C unit in our bedroom was leaking and we were told it’s a common issue on a hot day! Also the hotel “accidentally “ charged us over $1,000 without informing us after we checked out. We paid the accommodation when we booked the room three months ago! And without our authorization, I was shocked that the hotel could charge us twice. We stayed in a lot of hotels around the world, never had similar experience in the other hotels. I’m not sure what happened to this hotel, but I hope my review can be seen by the management team and I believe you have the ability to improve your future guest’s experience.

This is our favourite hotel in Canberra. The one bedroom suites have lots of room and a great balcony. It’s always incredibly clean. Beds are soft but very comfortable. It’s a short walk to Civic for shopping, and there’s lots of drinking and dining options right behind the hotel. Staff are always very friendly. Lots of parking under the hotel at a reasonable rate. Highly recommended.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. There are other hotels in Canberra with better service and a nicer ‘feel’ than this
one.

I stayed for 2 nights over Xmas. There was a lot of confusion around when my card was being charged for payment, as well as the pre-authorisation check. (In short, my card was charged ahead of my stay with no forewarning). When I discussed this at checkin, the staff were arrogant and assertive that it was advised in emails; I checked everything twice and not once mentioned this policy. From that interaction I made it a point to not engage with the staff.

The room itself is nice. A soft but comfortable bed (I prefer a firmer bed but have no complaints about this one). The room is also spacious and the shower is surprisingly great with very strong pressure. But the room feels ‘sterile’. The bright white, cool lights make it feel like an office; and the lamps are too dim to be used really. The hallways and common areas all have a feeling of ‘manufactured elegance’ - fine for a business trip, but not very enjoyable for a holiday.

Upon checkout, I needed to leave my bags at reception. The tags put on my bags were stickers, and they had put them on gift bags, meaning there’s this ugly sticker on my friends gifts! Not the end of the world, but further shows the arrogance and incompetence of the staff.

How it’s a 5 star hotel, I don’t know. Shop around and you’ll find a better hotel in Canberra. I won’t be staying here again.

We are regulars at this hotel. Spoke to GM Tushar who advised that they don’t want customers like us who don’t understand terms and conditions? I’ve never been treated this way before nor spoken to like that. Crux of the issue was we had an existing booking and needed to change the date. Essentially we could not get the discount we wanted anymore due to this, which i understand. However when we were advised the same discount was to be made available on Wednesday. I asked why we couldn’t have it applied? No response was really given to this aside from no one from management wanted to speak to us cause this is not their problem. Sad to say, we usually stay here 4 times a year, but will no longer be returning due to this experience. I honestly regret bringing my business here if this is how management speaks to people.
