Australian War Memorial reviews
59The last post was just amazing. Very emotional. Views from the war memorial was very good as well.
Shall book the ticket online before you go. And participate in the free tour (80 minutes) if you have enough time
The war memorial is something amazing! History of participation in wars. Material has been painstakingly collected to pass on to descendants.
It was great to see so many kids there wanting to learn about our history of conflict and the sacrifices made
Visiting the Australian War Memorial was a truly touching experience. I highly recommend everyone to stop by. The free entry is a bonus, and there's so much to see. Make sure to allow plenty of time; it's worth every moment. A poignant tribute and a must-visit. Five stars without a doubt.
The AWM is currently undergoing redevelopment. However the displays show the proud history of Australia. It will be truly amazing when it is finished.
Great place to visit to see Australian participation in various world conflicts.
Unfortunately the aircraft exhibit is being expanded so what was left was a bit limited.
Tickets are for a 3 hour visit but could easily have spent more time.
Will definitely be back.
What a wonderful day we had. Every exhibition stirred up so many emotions. From sadness to wonder and of course pride in our country and its honourable servicemen and women. I am so proud to be an Australian when i see the courage of those brave countrymen who sacrificed their all for Australia.
Fabulous.incredible galleries to visit. Make sure you book in for The Last Post Ceremony.very moving. Every Australian should make a plan to visit.
This place was awesome. Has lots of history and has a museum of the past wars. Very emotional place to see and know so many people have died protecting us.
Very nice displays with great detail. Last post ceremony is very good with excellent viewing angles. Displays are very well laid out. Don't forget to donate when you're there.
This is my favourite Canberra destination. The displays are amazing, and the stories are moving. The memorial is a must see when you are here.
Fantastic! Everyone should visit here at least once. Take your time, walk the museums (very easy) then attend the last post ceremony (also free) later in the afternoon.a special experience
Awe inspiring. If you only have time for one thing while in the nation's capital the War Memorial should be it.
Amazing staff and a massive collection of stories and exhibits of Australia's involvement in armed conflict.
We attended the daily last post ceremony, which was eerie and and heartfelt. They profile a fallen soldier, lay wreaths and play the last post. A truly memorable experience that I will remember forever
Difficult to find the words to describe the War Memorial. Sombre, sad, tragic, uplifting, proud, respectful and brilliant all come to mind. It is an amazing place to visit. Staff are wonderful.
Always worth a visit when in Canberra. See something different everytime and learn important things about our past and who we are now because of them.
It is a nice and peaceful place to pay credit to the fallen soldiers, I would recommend this visit to anyone who is in the area as it makes for a good day out.
What a very special place. As an ex service person, I found it so well put together and totally immersed in the consideration put into every single moment and story displayed. Take your kids.

We missed the last Post Ceremony by the time we arrived, so we could only walked round the compound. Unfortunately, we did not plan to stay longer in Canberra.
This review is just for the outside compound.
I could identify the statues of Simon and his Donkey and Sir Edward Dunlop. (I was honoured to have the opportunity to make his 80th birthday cake).
